Anyone had a Dump Valve and then removed it later ?

I suspect many of you have........

I removed it today ( cos I might sell it but to fund a bigger turbo but that's another story)..........have gone for a rip after removing the Turbo XS RFL I now have the following ( human) symptoms :-

the car does not sound as good and does not give me the usual " horn"

the exhaust  feels quieter as a weird side effect ( it wont be quieter but does feel as though it does

changin' gear feels a tad dull now

in summary, the car feels more restrained

it does feel just as fast though but noise wise has lost the edge.

My dillema is now whether the whack it back on pronto..............or sell it after waiting to see how much I miss the sound.

This thread is not intended to be a pro's n' cons of DV's as we all now the score there.

I now Spooks did this and Rosie was gutted. Incidentally, my fiance Natalie is now in a cream puff as she loves the sound

Anyone else been i this situation  ?

Cheers

Cal

p.s I will miss scaring the general public !

Hey Rusky,

I thought I could catch you before you left but failed miserably ! Was wrestling with the IC last night until I remembered your cup of hot water trick for 10 minutes [:)]. Hope the travelling was not too bad !

So the DV is back on [:P]...........I liked the refinement but it felt too tame. Having sat behind Jools en route to Aviemore for an hour was torture. His Turbo XS was clearly audible despite his monster exhaust.

So thanks for the input folks. I quite fancy an induction kit but i understand that may not bring huge benefits to my car in it's current state of tune. I also believe I would ideally need remapped again for air flow scaling etc if I installed a induction kit.

Cheers

Cal if you do some searching you'll find I'd asked about induction (specifically an APS CAI) and was told my target of 300bhp would be fed just fine thanks very much with the standard airbox and a decent panel filter. So your deductions are indeed spot on.

They really are a helpful bunch round here.

Yes I do believe I stored that piece of info from the bearded one himself. I fancy a CAI for the noise alone though. Wilky's used to sound immense on one of our border runs last year
