scoobykev Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Did I just see you on the telly? ITV, programme called The woman who ate scotland?
dipsy Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Was that you in the courier yesterday standing in front of a smokie with the presenter of the program ie what ScoobyKev is talking about
iain_spink Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Aye. I'll probably be on again soon as part of the BBC2 series 'The Great British Menu' where top chefs are competing to cook a dish for the queen. It might be on next week but I haven't heard yet. They are going to phone and tell me. Did the filming back in February at the Kirkcaldy Farmers Market. Pity I don't get paid for all these TV appearances! Iain.
vicki Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 No way, I am raging I missed you. I watch 'The Great British Menu' I will now tape it too [Y]

iain_spink Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Frank, is that an RS1800 in your avatar or is it a car you own?
frank c Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Sadly it's only a picture and not mine.(RS1800)......[] Looked at a few MkII's before buying the scoob but really needed something to use for work now and again....Do miss my old Escorts though.. Frank ps; Saw your car at Ingilston.......Stunning.....If only it was mine.......[Y]
iain_spink Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Cheers Frank. I stilll miss the old RS escorts too. Had several myself, but sadly, not an RS1800, although I came very close to buying one years ago. (£3500!) There was a MK1 RS 2000 for sale in the P&J last week £12000! Sorry I missed you at Ingliston, it was great to watch all the MK2's rallying and hear the awesome 6R4 in action. Iain
frank c Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hi Iain, Went to Ingilston to see my mate Robin Hamilton who was running one of the 6R4's..bloody quick motors..... but still had a soft spot for the MkII's though..I spotted your car when me and my mate sneeked round to the Go-kart track to try and get a better look at the action...i was trying to keep an eye on the action but i just couldn't stop looking at your 22B.........LOL Frank.

dougster Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 The Scottish heat of 'A Great British Menu' is showing this week on BBC2 at 18.30 weekdays.
iain_spink Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Thanks Dougster. I got a letter on Saturday saying basically that they(optimum television) will not be showing the Arbroath Smokie stuff this time mainly due to "pressures of time". Wee bit dissapointed about that because we went to quite a lot of bother to accomodate them with all the various requests etc they had for filming. However, just had a preliminary interview for another TV series on specialist foods so quite hopeful for that to progress further. I'll keep you all updated. (If anybodys interested!) Iain

iain_spink Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 "just had a preliminary interview for another TV series on specialist foods so quite hopeful for that to progress further. I'll keep you all updated." Just had word back yesterday, passed the 'interview' and now move on to the next stage, filming. This will be taking place next week at the Drymen Show near Loch Lomond where I will be making and selling Smokies. I was also on TV today at 1100 on BBC1 as part of another food programme called "This Little Farmer Went To Market". Didn't post it up as I wasn't sure if I'd be on, as the programme was about another trader. Was a really good plug for me though! Hope someone saw it.
FastScooby Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Was this the one with the buffalo burgers at kirkcaldy farmers market? the guy testing the smokies? must of missed you as that was someone else that gave him a smokie.(I think) Hope he paid for it
stuart_marshall Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Did you wait up until 5:55 just to post your message? Thats Subaru dedication for you! []
FastScooby Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I wish... couldn't sleep, on the hunt for a header tank
iain_spink Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Fast Scooby. Aye, thats the one. You're right, it wasn't me that served the smokie , I was doing the smoking. Paid for it! No way. You couldn't pay a top chef like him to say stuff like that about your product. Best value £2 I ever spent!
