david_taylor Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I to was jus t robbed at the same price. There definately must be some problems with the amount of optimax about, and the garage owners know it. Its went up 7p in 48 hrs! I had a good moan at the woman on the counter, but she knew nothing about it. Asked to speak to the owner but he would not come out of his office. Need to find out what is happin, its going to bankrupt me!!
iain_ogston Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Filled up this afternoon Properllor garage in Bucksburn. 96.9p, no sign of a shortage. However, the Shell on North Anderson Dive was dry of Optimax as early as Wednesday evening this week so there is definitely a problem.
paddy247 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Just filled up £1.04p at Perth, asked the staff about the shortage, and they said they had no problem getting it, and new nothing about a shortage of optimax, but said the esso garage up the road had or was running out of fuel.
dipsy Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 The shell garage at the scott fyfe circle all optimax pumps were empty went to the one on the forfar road filled up there about an hour or more came back by the scott fyfe circle saw a tanker there so presume it getting optimax this is in Dundee
nicholas_frame Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I got optimax in the shell at the Gyle in Edinburgh this afternoon for 97p per litre and shortages weren't mentioned. Ignorance is bliss till you run out in the middle of nowhere. Beware of planning a trip up the north of Scotland i.e. Richard Burns rally. Did some scanning of shell's website and they have nothing north of Inverness or Beauly! Will be taking some fuel cans with me for that run.
RA Dunk Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 just stock on on the octane booster and ya should be ok
bigdavie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 elderslie shell still has loads of lovely optimax to whom it may concern !!
st3ph3n Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Just got half a tanks worth in Bellshill at my usual watering hole, and the one on the Strathaven road in Hamilton appeared to be selling it too when I drove past. In celebration I burnt a chunk of it off by going from EK to Strathaven and then to Hamilton. HURRAH FOR FOSSIL FUELS.
Gumball Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 went to Shell in Paisley last night and before i grabbed the pump i went into ask the girl if there really was optimax in teh pump marked optimax. she had a quick look at the delivery note and some other paperwork and then said "good point, pump 3 doesnt have optimax in it, you need to use pump 4" Maybe this is a good point for the future !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky escape in this case
gogsie Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 What? No Opitmax in pump 3, did it have a different fuel in it?
Gumball Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 aye standard shat advertised as optimax. to their credit it was marked as 96.9p where pump 4 was 97.9 [] clowns
RA Dunk Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 still for the unsuspecting customer who just happened to see the optimax pump without reading the prices he could have filled his tank up wi Sh@t instead of the real stuff
dipsy Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Might be down to the bank holiday weekend the fuel depots are closed so no deliverys
