vicki Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Hi Guys What would you recommend to get tar of my car? Was washing and waxing today and spotted some spots of tar on it. When I wipe it with cloth it is just steaking [] Any help appreciated. Thanks []
ANDYJDMSTI Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 AutoGlym bug and tar remover works fine for me []
vicki Posted February 8, 2006 Author Posted February 8, 2006 Thanks Andy, you just reminded me about a set of autoglym stuff I bought ages ago. Miniture bottles of everything including intensive tar remover. It worked a treat []
colinj Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 AutoGlym bug and tar remover works fine for me [] Thats what I use also
ScoobyAndy Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Personaly i use the much easier and cheaper option.... a cloth and a wee drop diesel works every time []
G.T. Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 wd40 works well too, spray some on a cloth and wipe the tar off
vicki Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 Margarine if you are even tighter! My mum used margarine on mine and my sisters feet, to get oil off, after we had been paddling in the sea at Arbroath [] Many years ago []
st3ph3n Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 After an incident involving a BMX and me sliding bare chested (I was skinny then too) down a partially melting tarmac driveway for about 10 yards before crashing into a garage door when I was 9 or 10 I got the margerine treatment. Worked well from what I remember. The things a boy will do to impress a girl.
st3ph3n Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 I can't remember! To this day none of us can remember exactly what I was trying to do. I was cycling as fast as my wee legs could take me, but for what purpose I cannot say. Left a dent in that door that survived a good few years.
