oobster Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Fitted this to my car this morning, after picking it up from Stevie Walkers Bodyshop this morning It's a Scott-Lowe item
Spaceman Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looks great mate changes the front end really nicely. Was it easy to fit? very
st3ph3n Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Yes. Very nice. Very nice indeed. How long did it take you to fit then Andy? And were you cursing the fact you couldn't see half the bolts you were trying to work with?
oobster Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 st3ph3n - i hope i dont offend scott lowe here, but it was an absolute bugger to fit - it would have been a doddle if i had some assistance, but trying to get the 1st bolt in to hold it onto the car was a nightmare. Once the 1st one was on though it was fairly easy, but that first bolt just refused to catch! About 15 attempts, lying flat-out on the deck and trying to balance the far side with the tip on my toes. Back is killing me now. But aye, quite pleased with the result. Probably be stone-chiped to feck in about 2 weeks though
st3ph3n Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 2 men and a lift would make it 100000000 times easier to fit. My back and arms were killing me after it. Trying to hold a spanner on a nut I couldn't see in an akward place whilst lying flat out and trying to use the other hand to actually tighten it up with the socket and ratchet thing.
UK300_Impreza Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Would the use of a car jack not help if only one person (mind to wrap in cloth at the top)
wrxmania Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looks Great Andy, Nice and subtle. Pray for the paint to stay - stone chip nightmare Brian
irish al Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 looks the business, much nicer than just the corner bits on thier own. Help was only a phone call away. All i want to know now is how you got the splitter out of that bodyshop and mine is still there, GUS ?????????????
sKunk Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 My scott lowe splitter has been on the car for over a year now and it has only suffered 2 slight scrapes. Slow down for sleeping policemen though! Especially of you ever go to the asda in Livingston
sKunk Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 I think the splitter finishes off the car nicely. Looks good in red as well as blue
oobster Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 Cheers Al, but i was up early this morning, and down at stevie Walkers just after he opened. Straight back up the road & the tools out. I think Stevie done my stuff first because i phoned him and booked mine in about an hour before Gus did!!! Stevie did mention that all yours & gus's stuff has been primered (sp?) and is just awaiting a coat of blue. He did say he was quite quiet at the moment, so you might get the stuff back before next friday.
SEEVERS Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looks good Andy, how much did Walker's take for the painting,if you don't mind me asking..? It's just that i will need 3 items painted in the next fortnight to 3 weeks. Del. p.s...is it just the light that is making it look a slightly different shade..?
oobster Posted January 14, 2006 Author Posted January 14, 2006 Lol..... Del, it's coz the bumper is manky & the corner pieces & the splitter are nice & clean (i gave them 2 coats of Meguairs before i fitted them). For the 2 corner pieces (rub down all the stone chips, primer, top coat then 3 coats of laquer) + the splitter (was already primered when i got it) - £100.
sharon_mccall Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Didn't think it would be possible oobster - but your car looks even better m8. Fooking stunning.
higgy Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 nice on andy I take it that you dont have a steep driveway. Higgy
craig mac Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looks awesome Lucky man ......Wish i could get one fitted to my car......But alas teins fitted Craig
st3ph3n Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Craig, I fell down the worlds biggest pot hole just there without any trouble. Except maybe busted alignment. Splitter + Teins = a happy man.
jcscoob Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 Looking good andy all you need now is wight wheels
gus the bus Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Looking well good Andy! I'll make up my mind what the fook I'm doing once I get the stuff back from stevie boy! Irish Al, I'll give Stevie a call the morra and see where he's @ with our stuff! Are you free on Sunday (22nd) to fit your splitter??? Gus
