Yes - I will be at the West Lothian meet next week - come along and meet us - one day you will hopefully be driving your Impreza to the meets. A Sport is a very good first buy (just been reading the numerous replies) but insurance will be the only real saving (BIG saving) as fuel is not much different.

Had a 55 plate 2.0GX Sport as a courtesy car from Ian Grieve Subaru in Falkirk and it was very good fun and relaxing and quiet when you need it to be too, but not much more economical than mine face-icon-small-blush.gif

Most Subaru owners get roughly 200ish miles for £40 worth of Optimax, so not exactly economical, but not bad for the car. I reckon you could get, driving lightly around 300 miles for £40 in the Sport, maybe more.

Good luck.

Thanks Brian, well I'm going to the next meet, so I'll see you all there !! It's not the buying the car as said before, it's gonna be the upkeep. It's my dream tho and I'm sure if I cut back on the nights out at the weekends I'll just about manage. Just don't want the pleasure of it taken away from me if I'm struggling to keep it on the road !!!! face-icon-small-sad.gif

It was the expense running the thing that was the deciding factor in the fate of mine!!

How many miles do you do in a week on average?????

I'll try & give you some idea of the cost of upkeep!!!

Welcome Chloe-i sell scoobs for a living(what a job eh)several of my young customers find elephant or bell direct the cheapest for insurance,in terms of day to day running costs i.e. fuel there is very little difference in real terms between a sport and a turbo(ruby will tell you about economy in a sport-not!)with your budget you would be looking at a much newer sport, new age bug-eye car!It tends to be a minefield out there so a dealer is always going to give you the most comeback(ANY DEALERSHIP).Ive owned imprezas for the past ten years, advice, buy 1,as you wont regret it,even if it is a sport, its a starting point, and at least when your budget allows you can trade up.......dont waste time on here get yourself out and buy one......NOW!!!
