colinj Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Use the 6k to take out life insurance if your going out wi her!!!
peter_reid Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I bought my 1.6 gl when I was 17. I'm 18 now and still can't wait to get the turbo version. I'm happy with the look of mine now though and it still sounds good. Seems the minute IMPREZA is mentioned to insurance they like to charge through the nose. I just have to wait for the real thing. I may have been the slowest Impreza at knockhill but I loved every minute just the same. BTW Welcome Pete

sharon_mccall Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Good Stuff, will look forward to meeting you. As i said - PM me anytime. Enjoy your stay at SIDC. It's a great laugh and i have been a passenger in a few scoobies on runs. Some of those turbos are amazing. Happy Motoring Chloe!!

Have fun, Ian >> Yes its the same mate I sold my Turbo to. He is selling his sport but its a bit rough round the edges to be honest....hes only looking for £1.5k for it, probably not what shes looking for...............! Its 97R, facelift model with turbo bonnet, 90oddk on the clock......Red/Black STi interior, Gold 17's from newage, HKS Hyper exhaust...no cats, very loud!! DBM with series McRae stickers. It would still make a good car for someone looking for a cheap runabout & not minding a few wee bashes etc Colin
fast-bits-chloe Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 << Hi Chloe Me & the Mrs are in the next town along from Bathgate. Don't want to post up where exactly, as you never know who could be reading this! The car in Kaim Park is indeed a P1 - here is a link to the garage and here is a link to the car. They are wanting £13,995 for it. And insurance on a P1 for a 19-year old would probably be the same again!! Maybe catch you at a meet sometime. Andy >> Sorry andy i never read this properly 1st time round!! Give me a clue North, South, East or West of Bathgate Hope to meet you all at the meet
peter_reid Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Cainze has a nice sport for sale on www.imprezasport.net/ Sorry tried to post a link
st3ph3n Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Chloe, firstly welcome to the SIDC. It's a great community, online and offline. When I was 20 I was paying out over a grand to insure something not nearly as exciting as an Impreza, so it might be a challenge. I was only 23 when I bought my 2005 WRX and people claimed I was mad for paying the insurance I was paying then, and indeed am paying now just a year later. Having said that give this phone number a ring - 0208 6427868. It's a guy called Gary Moulson at Ketih Michaels Insurance. He's a fellow Impreza driver and might well be able to help you out. SIDC members get a discount , so you should mention you'd be joining the club if you got a car. There's a few people on the forum insured through them and have got good prices. Certainly can't do any harm. See if you can beat my best quote though, again when I was 20 and looking at a MKIV Twin Turbo Supra. The AA Wanted £10K insurance. The car was only £11K or £12K!

Gumball Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 HI, Nothing like a new girl member to get a 5 page thread after 6 hours, lol You should go to the meets, meet people, check out the cars and think wisely before purchasing anything. that way youll have a better understanding of what to get for your money. be aware of people trying to sell you their cars, mates cars etc!! they want rid of them. SO..take your time, think, get quotes BUT DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE PRICES, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD. YOULL HAVE FUN WHEN YOU GET IT
