st3ph3n Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Oh yes. Not done an ounce of work since the 23rd. Thought that might make a few of you sick before you head back tomorrow.
G.T. Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 not me i only work 3 days a week and wont be back till friday night now
st3ph3n Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Would it be wide to go and sign on for a week before I start my new job? Last time I went they tried to send me on a course to learn how to use computers, despite having an honours degree in them. Took about 5 minutes to explain why it would be a pointless thing to do, but I don't think she got it in the end.

st3ph3n Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 The good people at shell sent me £40 of Halfords vouchers and I bought some CD2 with it, so if the weather holds up I'll have a productive week and clean my engine bay. But knowing me it'll be up at 11. A plane is born and kit car crisis on discovery real time whilst eating some breakfast then kill the rest of the day.
sharon_mccall Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Can i just say st3ph3n i love your quote - its brilliant (had to read it very sloooowly to get "it")...lol
st3ph3n Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 The genius that is Abraham "Grampa" Simpson.

sharon_mccall Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Yeah but my school isn't like that, all the kids are brilliant. It's the work in general i cannot be arsed with.......but i am a lazy cow!
st3ph3n Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Peter - 'I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.' As said by Grampa Simpson in the episode Homerpalooza. Homer finds out he's not "down wiv da kidz" and that's Grampa's opinion about it. Homer takes them to the Hullabalooza concert to prove he's cool and ends up getting shot in the stomach by Peter Frampton's inflatable pig. Homer then goes on tour with Hullabalooza and gets shot in the stomach by a cannonball each show until a vet tells him he can't. So he stops and goes back to his family. The end. An episode that also contains the excellent quote - "Billy Corrigan, Smashing Pumpkins" "Homer Simpson, smiling politely".

NightOwl Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Not done hellish much since getting the boot on the 28th November. Since the wife was off for a fortnight over Christmas, I treated it like a holiday too. Back to job hunting and housework tomorrow. Lol! I must try and avoid daytime telly though. It's horribly addictive. Just before Christmas I had to go out in the morning and actually taped 'Homes Under the Hammer' to watch later! How sad am I??? It's time I was working again. If anyone has a vacancy for a trainee whatever, preferably in the Fife area, starting at around 20K then do give me a shout! I can drive a car, truck and bus but I'll give anything a try. Quite keen to try offshore, but I guess there's not much call for drivers on rigs!
G.T. Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 daytome tv and housework is pash nightowl, i have the same problem as i only work weekends, does get mega boring though
