ultrasonic cleaning bath

Anybody know where I can get some small alloy parts cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaning bath, its because when I try to weld it the heat draws the saturated oil out from the porous casting and prevents the weld taking and I have been told this is the only method open to me but I can't find a service in Scotland never mind Glasgow.

Not sure how big the part is that you need cleaned, but I think some of the fuel injection specialists should have ultra sonic baths for cleaning injectors and pump parts.

Not sure if they would let you use it or even if they would be big enough to fit the part into.

Got one on my ship too!!! But its off the coast of Angola just now, so not much use there

Thanks, I have tried Lucas in Glasgow because of the injecter work they do but they don't have one. Turner In Govan are my next stop but weren't open today.

The part size is 260 x 240 x 50mm. How much to air freight to angola? Not that I'm desperate.

Are you trying to Tig weld it .Soak with clean paint thinner and leave to dry or give it a slit heat with gas bottles not to hot or you will melt the alloy .It a pain with alloy trying to get it clean for welding
