zeolite Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Spooks...Totally agree with you about rushing. Events like this can't just be thrown together and some people are showing the impatience of a 2 year old. gumball is right about there being a good start here and I am sure we can build on that. if we are going to do this we have to do ir right because it costs so damn much for an event like this. Solidarity Scott!
Gumball Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 just looked at the original post again on this thread. 40quid, disco, entertainment etc, 3 course meal.Maybe you could sandbag it for another time if you think time is against you and the interest isnt there. people in general may believe its easy to organise anything scottish scoobies orienteted. wether it be RO's organising meets, squirrel and Imy organising runs for us all, SS clothing, Karting, John arranging trackdays, the day we had the BBQ at crail courtesy of Matt, Wilky organising a national relay, even thinking and arranging meeting points and times for events is hard work at times.................takes effort from the people that are just members like everyone else but choose to do it cos it benefits everyone. if the things that are organised or proposed are a bag of shat then feel free to propose ideas and make the effort to organise something !!! its the same people all the time that are doing the work for us all, month in month out. this is very frustrating im sure. the club wont just tick over without all the members making an effort to support each others suggestions and also sometimes starting a thread titled "HERES AND IDEA FOR....X" or "WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK OF A DAY AT...........X" give it a try folks....you never know, it may take less effort than you think
sharon_mccall Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I have a great idea for an event...................... "Drive someone else's car for the day" Right - who's up for it?????
sharon_mccall Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 **THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO DOUGSTER'S NOW DELETED REPLY, ASKING WTF THE ABOVE HAD TO DO WITH THE SCOOBY BALL** Nothing - it's in relation to Gumball's last thread. So fecking what???? Erase it if it bothers you so much!
sharon_mccall Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Oh Pete. The scoobyball is cancelled, END OF!!!! You weren't even going so shut it!
sharon_mccall Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 **THIS IS A QUOTE FROM DOUGSTER, WHICH HE HAS ALSO DELETED** << And you wonder why I do not want to moderate this drivel anymore. It isn't a chat room either. >> What exactly does that crap have to do with the scooby ball?? POT KETTLE BLACK
irish al Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Put the dummies away children. Scott u want any help to make sure this goes ahead or is it done and dusted ?????
scoobylove Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 guys and gals......i dont know any of ya so i can be impartial here..........im a member of sws and we have the same probs as you are facing now.......events are organised and then cancelled due to lack of support.......we've decided to make more of an effort to plan in advance to hopefully stop this happening in future....(heres hoping). And we are asking for non returnable deposits to stop eveyone saying yes and then backing out at the last min...it sort of whittles down the time wasters.............the ones who organise the events are the ones left to pick up the pieces when it all goes pete tong............ maybe you could post any major events in all the groups areas of sidc...you might generate some interest from further afield......dont want to offend anyone but hope this helps. im originally from glasgow but have lived in wiltshire for the last 12 years and often look on your site to see if there is anything going on when i come back home to visit ..........or just when im homesick and like to hear you all natter to each other... take care you all and dont give up...........
Johnny50 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 An excellent idea. Something we should take on-board if we were to plan this event for a later date.
oobster Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Well just my 2p worth - thanks go to Scott for trying to organise this, and i'm genuinely sorry to see that it probably isnt going to happen as I was really looking forward to it. Perhaps we can have it later on in the year - if any assistance is required in organising it i'd be happy to lend a hand
Johnny50 Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 If we all pull together, we can get something moving.
scoobylove Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 can you let me know if you sort another date for this...................would be happy to promote it this way............cheers guys..
dougster Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I'm defo no goin noo. Unless Spooks gets to play lead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
