4Hero Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Hi Guys, I was just wondering what tyres you guys use? Are there any recommendations on where to buy them too? I need 4. Thanks in advance!
JohnSt Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Toyo Proxy's T1-R @ Jim Dickson Tyres 01236-720205 ---john---
UK300_Impreza Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I was going to go for the toyos was advised there great in the dry but slippy in the wet, was told that Ealge F1's were the way to go
spooks Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Eagle F1's are good all rounders IMHO. Toyo or bridgestone ( sometimes) are good also Spooks
RS Grant Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Another vote for Goodyear Eagle F1's here.... Cheers, Grant
Doogsy Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I'm with John Toyo T1 R from the good Mr. Dickson Doog
paddy247 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I just put a set of toyo t1-r on and love them.
p1ggm Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 has to be eagle f1s for a greta all round tyre, the bridgestones are really grippy , but i got a few thousand miles more out of the f1s toyos are ok, but i wouldent run them on mine, tbh, althou i am tempted to go for their race tyre for my 17s
andy Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Eagles and Jim fer sure. Went on the recommendations of the guys here and was not disappointed. 4 fitted for £356. That was cheaper than I could buy them on mytyres or Black Circles even with SIDC discount.
wilky Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Toyo T1R. I have seen twitchy driving in the wet sorted by these tyres. After the pish write up the T1S got in the wet, Toyo relesased the T1R, with a harder wearing shoulder, and better rain handling. I would go for the T1R. Callum W
zeolite Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 DON'T buy Bridgestones! F1s will never give you any surprises.
st3ph3n Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I had some terrific understeer with my Bridgestones last night when I wasn't pushing on. They just don't cope with moisture IMHO.
col666 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Got toyos on just now and dont rate them at all in the wet, Goodyear F1 again next time for sure. Col.
craig mac Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Winter Snow OmG Those Nokians WR are TOP CLASS, GRIP AS IF THE ROAD IS DRY IN 3 INCH OF SNOW 100%CONFIDANCE HERE Bridgestones are cr4p in the wet but great in the dry.... F1's going on my 18" rims after winter Craig
ScoobyAndy Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Go with Eagle F1's absolutely fantastic tyre
Ken 275 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Forget the Bridgestones (AKA Firestone I think). I have the Potenza's and they are well mince. I haven't tried the Eagles but certainly the Pirelli P Zero type seemed quite good, esp in the wet. K.
clutdav Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 I've got Pirelli P Zero Neros on my PFF7's if it is good enough for Prodrive then it is good enough for me........................ Dave
4Hero Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 thanks for the excellent advice/tips guys, I think I'll give Mr Dickson a call
