Meeting place has still to be decided we have to be at Yorkhill for 2pm on the 11 december 2005

Scottish Television will be in attendance at the hospital and yorkhill is releasing a press release about us attending etc.

The day is all about giving to the children at christmas time when they are unfortunate to be stuck in a hospital. If anyone has any presents but cannot make it on the day please pm me and i wil arrange to have them collected. Please clearly mark all present with boy or girl and age the toy is for. As discussed soft toys are not a good idea because they carry infection easily.

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask or pm me thanks again

I had said I would come down from Aberdeen but was told my a member of SIDC that I had missed the boat and to try doing something for my local sick kids ward..

I posted something up with regards to doing something in Aberdeen but got no responce about it from the folks up here. Really a case of too little too late as this was at the beginning of the month.

However i would love to come down and give support to this, although I will have little in the way of presents.

Start/Finnish point for the run will be Cairn Lodge/Happendon Services, turn off at junction 11 on the M74 Southbound.I can meet up with Northbound group in Cumnock around 7.30am iff that suits.

Cairn Lodge meet time: 8.00 for 8.30 departure.

Anyone requiring fuel can fill up here with opti-juice prior to the run or when we get back.

This excursion will last for approx. 3 to 3.5 hours taking in part of the Lanark, Scottish Borders & Dumfries Regions.

Dopey is on with the maps at present,I volunteered him so he's got no choice in the matterface-icon-small-happy.gif

There will be a few pit stops on route, time to stretch the old legs & take a leak.

Is anyone interested in travelling slightly ahead of the run to take photos/videos????

A packed lunch will be appropriate for this run although you can get something to eat at Cairn Lodge Services.

As it will be quite cold when we stop for a breather remember to take warm clothes, hot drinks/food & chocolate(for me!!!face-icon-small-wink.gif

I'm hoping Billyboy will be escorting us all back to Bishopbriggs for the start of the Santa Cruise.

See ya,

Del

Iff anyone wants more info, just askface-icon-small-smile.gif

Hi Malkyface-icon-small-smile.gif

The run will be at a sensible pace, most cars will hopefully be full of pressies for the kids at Yorkhill,no heroics on my part or anybody elsesface-icon-small-wink.gifface-icon-small-happy.gif

Some of the roads are a bit tricky at the moment due to recent snowfalls, hopefully the weather will be ok on the day.

See ya soon,

Del

I'm assuming all names in above post are taking part in the run,iff not can you please note your interest.

Come along for the run folks, you don't have to take part in the Santa Cruise afterwards, although we are still looking for 10 more scoobs to participate.

Cheers,

Grant and I are collecting donations through our work and will be doing some pressie shopping mid-week next week.

We will split what we buy and give half to Edinburgh Sick Kids and half to Yorkhill.

Spooks, I touch goats face-icon-small-wink.gif

Added our name to the Lothians list and, time permitting, may come along to the Glasgow drop.

We supported Glasgow last year and feel it is right to make the effort to join the Edinburgh convoy.

If time is too tight, will drop off the presents ear marked for Yorkhill to someone in the Glasgow convoy before Sunday 11th.

Lothians List:

1) Spooks

2) Gus the Bus

3) Squirrel and Imy
