Fee Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Yeah....it was a super day Thanks to everyone that organised it Think we should all give ourselves a pat on the back too for the great turnout
st3ph3n Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 45 Imprezas, a non-turbo Subaru Imposter (driven by some maniacal woman) and a Corsa. Top stuff. Only 2 near death experiences, which was nice. Quality roads all round. Well worth the entrance fee. Thanks again to all who organised as it wouldn't have been possible without you.
gus the bus Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Superb! Well done and well organised Gumball, Imy squirrel etc... (and driven!!) everybody. Iaing Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Yip cracking day, big thanks to all those involved in organising. Good to meet some new folks too! Decided to go on the run after the photoshoot, headed back to Aberdeen at the mossat turning as I was starting to feel the strain of 5 hrs sleep and a lot of "spirited" driving shall we say. Wrxmania did you manage to catch up with the rest of the group after I left? Iain
ed-209 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I agree, well done to everyone involved in the planning and execution of today, But more important for everyone turning up Can't wait until the next one. Ed
wrxmania Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 I second all of Ally's comments - big thanks to all who organised it and to all who turned up. Just in, the car is UNBELIEVABLE filthy and still in one piece... I was taking it easy. I'll post pictures shortly! Brian

andy Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 That's me just home. Talk about a long day! Car filthy, six inch crack in windscreen, tired, but grinning from ear to ear. First run and loved it. When's the next one? Many thanks to all involved in the organising - Gumball, Squirrel, Imy (I thought the route guide was very slick) and the Group leaders - especially the guys who led us back from Tomintoul. I sure as hell didn't fancy being on point for that! Happy Kincardine.

Gumball Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 i stink, im shattered, by cars bogging, im hungry, im moaning.... WAIT NO NEED!!! That my friends was one of the best SIDC days i have been on yet. there was a FANTASTIC turnout, great understanding of people to get their cars in place, move them, place them again. the sun sure did catch us out there forcing us to change positions. the route was well planned as usual by Grant and Imy, excellent maps. the day was quite hectic schedule wise and theres loads of people i wanted to meet and talk to. maybe next time. wilky and i played games and talked pure nonsense all day, thanks for the company. special thanks to the group leaders for taking the difficult task of watching out for people and settin the pace. THANKS TO JON AT SCOOBY MAGAZINE FOR TRAVELLING UP TO DO YOUR STUFF!! THAT MADE MY DAY HAVING YOU DO THAT"" SAFE HOME TOMORROW and thanks to each and evryone of you for appearing today at such an early time and staying as long as you could!!!! SIDC members made this day happen and im glad there was such a great turnout. 46 scoobies was the total count. Thanks for not making me speak for nothing to start with by driving well and safely. i TBH was expecting a few close encounters or lunacy from one or two (just in general) but clearly we didnt have any nonsense at all which was good. I thought for a minute there was a P1 on the way home being naughty, but looking back maybe i was tired and imagining things. as we all agreed to play the game today THANKS AGAIN TO ERVYONE. LOOK FORWARD TO DOING IT AGAIN IN THE SPRING WHEN THE ROADS ARE CLEANER AND DRIER. ANY VOLUNTEERS TO ARRANGE THE NEXT ONE?? anyone from any member to RO can do this.
col666 Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Thanks to everybody for today, managed to keep my loony driving to a minimum gumball, only one donut and a few sideways moments Heres some random people standing on a hill in a ski centre with no snow.....weird! hilclimbers Col.

the squiggle Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 714 Kilometers, car still reads in Kilometers and i think it is roughly 480 miles £120 in Optimax 16 Hour day Absoloutely amazing day out Weather stayed nice and dry, perfect for those induction temps Not as slidy as i first thought it would be Hard as hell to lead the group over the Lecht in the pitch black with the lights slowly getting caked in crup Got to put some more faces to names, which was nice Loved following JCScoob in the dark and using his flaming exhaust as a beacon Extremely high standard of driving from everyone. Never saw one traffic car all day but i was driving as if they were round the next corner Tried to keep the pace favourable to the peeps behind me so thank you if you thought my pace was ok and sorry if you think my pace was toooo slow Hardly any traffic on the roads and only overtook about 3 cars all day long Still trying to get used to this suspension set up but i am starting to get the hang of it and starting to enjoy it. Towards the end i started to carry a bit more speed into the corners and the car felt so planted Cant remember who had the fault at Glenshee, white WRX with tiny steering wheel. PM me and i will tell you the fault codes 24 and 45 Grant
