higgy Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Hi all A big thanx to John S for getting us all together for yet another great day. I think fun was had by everyone . It is also amazing how far you can push the limits ,before you are hedding backwards into the grassto test subaru's allwheel drive off road.LOL Also a big thanx to Russel and Dave for helping out Higgy PS nice to meet some new peeps and see some old faces
dougster Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Simon what did the marshalls 'pull' you for? I also have a great pic of you being followed by an 'unmarked' vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!
duka Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Thanks to John and everyone at the SIDC for orgainising this - sorry for holding EVERYONE up at the corners but the back end was just way to slippy to get any power down other than the straights. Thanks Steve
st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 That beemer was no slouch. The 535d is putting out about 8 million lb/ft of torque or there abouts.
tino Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Another big thanks to John for organising yet another exellent trackday Some really tasty motors, my personal favourite being the aforementioned Fiesta. Wow what a power delivery, didn't know Ford did warp drive! Unfortunately I managed to lunch my gearbox coming out of the hairpin (yes thats what the loud bang was ) Third gear no more! Luckily I was able to nip into the pit lane so as not to hold up proceedings. Gearbox got me home on the 'remaining' 4 gears though with some rather interesting 'percussion' acompaniment On the bright side, I've just finished rebuilding a JDM 6 speed which was going in soon anyway Had a great time regardless of the weather and mechanical probs. Can't wait till 'next season' Some nice pictures, will have to get some lessons on how to work my digital camera one day!
st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 It was good talking to you earlier Tino. Your car is a real beast, and was a nice warm place to sit for 5 minutes too. Should run great with the 6 speed next year.
Big Daz Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Had a great day too, Puggy survived with no damage Was very slippy in the morning, back end just wouldnt stay still Sorry for holding anyone up. Was better in the afernoon, there was a dry enough line to switch the Nos on for a while & that evened the score slightly, we could out accelerate some of the Elises up the pit straight, even though it was only at 50% A pic of me driving too Daz
dougster Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 What one are you Tino and I'll see if I got you before LUNCH!!
182ish Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Thanks to John for another brilliant session. Only one minor excursion when ambition oughtweighed talent Sorry Dougster didn't get PM don't know what went wrong hope you got your delivery sorted.
st3ph3n Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Tino is in the first picture on the first page. The standardish looking WRX that is no where near standard.
tino Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Cheers Dougster, I'm in the first picture (HF51***) Infact I was the first piccy in the last trackday thread you did (now my PC wall paper at work!) I think 'lunch' was about 2-2.30pm (all day ticket) so wasn't too disapointed. Good to talk to you too St3ph3n, hope you had a good day, will have to take you for a spin next time, had a co-pilot and a couple of visitor passengers plus a full flask of tea to drink so didn't have a lot of time TTFN
dougster Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Tino, I have more of you I think. 182, did you see me at tyres around in my transit? I passed the pipe over to the fantastic looking 1.6 wagon and I gave you a wave!!!! All sorted.
dougster Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Pictures are best viewed if resized to 640 x 480. Tino, anytime for a PAX lap in that standard WRX!!!!!!!!!!!
fai17 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves. I was at work so could pop up. But there will be next time. Scot Sma01id you enjoy it and hows your car with the GEMS?
