Big Daz Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Anyone have any idea what tyre pressure i should set slicks at for circuit use? 15" wheels FWD front wheels only. Cheers Daz
jamie_wood Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 If its for knockhill then you set the pressures on all corners of the car to diferent psi. I cant remember what they are but when I ran slicks I did 5-6 laps and then came in and got them set when they were hot. See the guys at wheels around if they are there on the day Sorry I cant be of more help
zeolite Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 On a light car like the Pug you would probably start around 30-32psi on the front and 26-28 on the back. The key is to get the slick at the right temperature right across the tread. So things like camber affect this. Ambient temperature is critical and obviously when it is cold and wet you will have to reduce the pressure to get more heat in the tyres. with KH the big issue is the hairpin and i think some guys put more into the right hand than the left hand just to compensate for the extra heat created by the hairpin. Corsa should have some info on rally tyres which should be helpful
