tom_paxton Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Anyone else getting a lot of BBBIIIIGGGGG house spiders now that the weather's cooling off? We've had more in last couple of weeks than I've seen in last 3 years! This kind which have also been appearing in large numbers in Ireland... click The cats are having great fun, although they don't kill or eat them, just toy with them until they get out of reach. Or my foot lands on them (the spiders that is, not the moggies).
ScoobyAndy Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 lol yeah. The house is covered in splat marks. Either that or the dysons swallowed more spideres than dirt. Theyre horrible big things!!!!!!
dougster Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Delicious!!!! I had a few of them at a memorable Edinburgh meet!!!!
gus the bus Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I just walked into one which was hanging over my conservatory door muckin fental! I've never seen so many before, last year it was wasps
fai17 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Its a true fact that we all eat at least one spider while we are asleep Although i have my doubts.
dave_morgan Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 << Delicious!!!! I had a few of them at a memorable Edinburgh meet!!!! >> Ahhh, the good ol' days!! I remember the fly, but don't remember the spiders.... but then, memories of most of the best Edinburgh meets have been a bit hazy!!!!
Fee Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I was just saying yesterday that there have been lots of spiders in the flat recently....but nothing like that (phew!) I thought it was on average a person will eat 7 spiders during their sleep in their life
ScoobyAndy Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Try eating one of those monsters and you'll end up in A&E choking
fai17 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I'll be going to sleep with my mouth taped up from now on
sharon_mccall Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 LOL I need mines taped up most of the time!

oobster Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Had a few spiders but had quite a lot of "Jenny-long-legs" (surely thats not the correct name for them!!!) Cat has fun with them for a while until she gets bored and leaves them half-dead on the floor
scott_coull Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Was house sitting at my cousins house for 2 weeks, we counted 5 of them in the 2 week period. Came accross a couple today in Gas meter boxes.....hate the things! Coulster
pink pepper Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 yes we've had LOADS of spiders in this house (moved two months ago) never used to get a lot in our old house but this one WOW are we getting a lot - saying that, i was coming in here tonight and there was a HUGE dark spider at the lock, eeeccggghh!!! - - - - - - And Wasps. Had 12 in the house on sunday - not very good if its a nice day and you want to open the window - as have to watch that the cats and dog don't go after them and get stung (they just get slatted or sprayed with hairspray, the spiders get chucked out the window, ally won't let me kill them - we have a resident spider on the conservatory window (outside not in) we've named it ........ shug!
dan_jess Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Theres a big spider on the curtain next to my computer as im writing this, a h8 the things!
andy Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Spiders are great little critters. They eat flies and other bug-type things that walk on dog-poo and pass on nasties. Never kill a spider. They may look scary, but they're the good guys!
peter_macgowan Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Check this link out Spider Bite Be warned its pretty bad
sharon_mccall Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Oh My God..............your warning wasn't enough of a warning. EEUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! lol
