PS after I got my Scooby, the drummer got a Civic type R...... it makes the retreat home at the end of the night far more interesting >> MY94 - I play for Soul Train although my name is not on the slightly out of date website. Been working with as a 2 piece for Scotbase called Homebru for 10 years - moving into the functions market now. "Soul Train" is a 5 piece wedding/function band. Also do a bit of theatre work and other odds and ends such as Lena Martell this Sunday night @ Falkrik Town Hall. What about yourself? Brian
MY94 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I used to play in a band with your drummer many ,many years ago.I also used to do the lights/PA for Lena years ago too(although only the twice).......it's a small world. I'm a bass player, used to play with Fish,KT Tunstall and a few others, but stuck playing the function scene now myself. I play in Seattle, the alternative function band, our singer tends to shout alot, but the rest of the band are good players. Actually,we might need a guitarist to dep now and again (as one of our two has been offered the gig in Jools Hollands new club in his resident band). Do u know Taj?(guitarist) Tell Allan ,Niall the bass player says hello............ Cheers.
wrxmania Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Hi Niall, It is certainly a small world. I do know Taj (Vygotsky I assume). I am a big fan of Fish - lucky bloke! Don't know Seattle - I'll say to Allan too that you say hello. I am sure there will be a few stories to tell. At the Glinhill Hotel tonight for a wedding (with the 2 piece) and I am sure Soul Train are at Dalhousie Castle but it may be Cameron House tonight. RE the deps - what kind of stuff do you play - all the usual? Sure I'd give it a go - ask Allan or ny of the others who may know me - it should be no problem. Where do you know Allan from? Brian
oobster Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Here's that pic wot i took @ deer park - Irish Al's car, then mine, then Gus's very-low WRX300
MY94 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I know Allan from Jewel and Esk,we were both on the music course........ We play all the tosh of the day, same as everyone else........ We might have a dep,but if not we'll give u a shout. Just in from a wedding at Keavil House Hotel in Crossford myself. Cheers for now...... Do u have a NewYears gig yet?,as we might be stuck for that night..........Taj is playing with Deacon Blue and Calais may be doing something for the Hootinanny thing with Jools.U probably are as everyone else I know is booked up and we may use a keys player instead. Anyways,I need sleep....... Keep Rockin
wrxmania Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Just in myself. Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew - wedding. New year is booked for the agent BUT they have not confirmed a venue. Need to phone them through the week and check - if not, I'll let you know - Soul Train will not be working that night anyway. Brian
dougster Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 OT: Are the Arctic Monkeys on the wedding circuit? I'll get married if they are. (hic|)
