Just back from the pub (so excuse the talking bollocks!) Was talking to my mate about the Beef tribute vid and how I'd have to send him the link. He's not been to a rally since he was a kid (now 45!) and I've never been to one. I do loads of bike photography, but would love to try my hand at rallying pics so we've decided we're up for a day out - thing is we don't know what's on. Anything coming up that's worth a visit?

I've never been to one myself. Had planned to try and see some of the Tarmac stuff earlier in the year, but like most of my plans I forgot about it.

Also Andy, loving the sig. I nearly laughed up my breakfast roll there.

The mccrae rally will be superb with lots of old school rwd cars aswell as the wrc spec cars. All the mccrae family are racing. Colin is using his 330brake naturally aspirated mk2 escort, which weighing in at 900kgs will be one of the fastest cars there.

I'll be thereface-icon-small-happy.gif

It's at perth on sat starts at 9am

There are three rounds of the STRC left this year and are as follows;

Tunnocks Tour of Mull 14th,15th and 16th October funnily enough on Mull.

Cheviot stages 22nd/23rd October Otterburn Military Ranges A68 Jedburgh Road.(we are competing)

Kingdom Stages 5th November Crail Airfield.(We are competing)

You would be most welcome as a spectator or better still why not marshall?

talking to the guy that bought my spoiler off my (Warby) from down south.

Him and some of the guys from down south have been to germany this year and had an awesome time.

They followed Peter Soljberg up to the service area over 30 miles of awesome speeds behind the legend himself.

They are going again at the start of the year. March i think. I am seriously up for going with them next time to watch the wrc and get gassed at night and drive fast.

awesome

Thanks for the replies guys. Can't make this weekend as I'm in Kinlochleven for the final round of the Brit Trials Championship - love that one for the run up through Glencoe face-icon-small-smile.gif

The Cheviot Stages sound like a distinct possibility though.

As for marshalling - having never been to a rally I think I'd like to find me feet first!

You want to see real tarmac rallying...go to the home...

ireland......cant beat it.......

just look at the irish guys and the quality of cars.....

more wrc cars in the irish national championship than there is in the wrc itself....

<< Sorry to disagree corsa, but I believe that the Tour of Mull is THE original and Best closed road rally, it's just a shame the weather usually sucks >>

well said m8. i was marshalling at Mull last year and it was fantastic. even better if you dont mind the cold, dark and midges.

would do it again anytime

as for Ireland... would love to go over to some of the events over there too. hear and seen alot about them and they look fantastic.
