dipsy Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Just won'ted to know if any body had used millers cvl turbo and did it make any difference it a bigger bottle than octane booster
dipsy Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Just had a look on Millers website the cvl turbo boost octane 4ron
Gumball Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 i use millers power boost. this is one bottle to a tank rather than 2 bottles of CVL i didnt get the same performance using CVL as i did with the power boost
dipsy Posted September 24, 2005 Author Posted September 24, 2005 Thanks for the reply chris i will stick to octane booster
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 << didnt get the same performance using CVL as i did with the power boost >> I am in agreement as i tried the CVL and octane plus while at crail and found in comparison that i got better times while using the millers octane plus. Funnily enough i found that my fastest time at crail had been while i was just using plain old Optimax, so a bit undecided about any of the benifits it offers. Although times can vary due to many reasons so may give the old octane boost another go!! If you do want to try some i recon the millers octane plus in my opinion, plus it works out cheaper
drb5 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I use NF, as the doses i use, are near enough equal in cost to the CVL turbo, but are better for power/raising octane.
dipsy Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Dave were do you get nf from.I was speaking to Jacqui at Knochhill today and she uses it aswell
Carl Davey Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 A good friend of mines new mini-venture. Will do decent discounts for Group Buys etc if interested. I was using Octane Plus in mine for the record. www.fuelboost.co.uk
wilky Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I have had best results with NF but it is more expensive than miller, and the difference is only slight. At our level it doesnt really matter, however if you are trying to squeeze every last hp from the amount of ignition advance you can run then it will make a difference. The millers you talk of will be fine at the level we work at, but if you have the car mapped with the booster, then you need to remain constant with that everytime you top up. If you dont have booster to put in and you fill up, then keep your car off boost and she wont det. Another top tip for those of you that dont abla booster, is put it in first before you fill up with petrol, the petrol will flush it out the u bend into the tank. If you put the booster in last it will just sit in the bend in your fuel filler pipe. Callum W
dipsy Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Hello Wilky my car was mapped useing optimax Andy said when giving it a Blast to stick octane booster in the tank .When i stick octane booster in to me it makes a difference .I will stick to the octane booster
dougster Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Millers OB was also the easiest for me with regards to one bottle everytime you top up. What I then done was use half a bottle and half filled the tank to keep octane rating at it's highest as it will degrade over a period of time.
dipsy Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 I just use the car at the weekends if i fill the tank on Saturday i can empty it by Sunday i uesed a half a tank from Carnoustie to Knochhill yesterday having a play on the way back .I should of spoke to you Dougster yesterday .It was me who said hello Douglus in the pit lane yesterday
dougster Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Dipsy, you weren't the only one to say Hi. KH is a nightmare trying to chat with everyone, but I enjoy every minute if someone does!!!! I seen some nice Scottish Scoobies tops displaying user-names but where were all the lanyards!!! I'll speak to you (all) soon!!
wilky Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 << What I then done was use half a bottle and half filled the tank to keep octane rating at it's highest as it will degrade over a period of time. >> Booster will not stop your octane rating from dregrading, it will still degrade as the fuel gets stale as it ages. Octane booster alters the flash point of the fuel, and thats how it gives the effect of increasing octane, ie it will allow you to run more ignition advance.
Carl Davey Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Doug's talking about half-filling the tank rather than filling it to the brim at each visit to Shell. Hence, because he is filling it twice as regularly the fuel is having less of a chance to degrade in his fuel tank. Whether or not it's degrading on the forecourt instead is another matter....
RA Dunk Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 the fuel in my tanks never in long enough to get stale lol
dipsy Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 I sent Andy f an email before i posted this to ask his opinion on my car with tek3 remap if my car would benifit with using cvl turbo
swanie Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hi Dipsy We have tested this product for millers oils as we here at AWD are a Millers dealers The CVL Turbo is very good but can't be used with cat's With your car and ecu set up that you run it would mearly build in more saftey for you in the burn/ We have rollin road tested both octane plus and cvl turbo and can say the cvl makes a noticable increase in power and also brings the car up on power that wee bit faster Works better on imports than uk cars. i hope this help you.
dipsy Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Swanie thanks for the reply .I am in your place next Saturday for new brake pads .Kev
