2559B Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 << I like the security is that Thatcham approved >> LOL dunno about the thatcham approved ..... but it come with a glowing recommendation from pedigree chum & the kennel club
2559B Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 << Looks and goes well Ally. Whats been done??????? >> hayward & scott 3"system hks filter ecutek2 ( mapped by power engineering ) wrc spec spark plugs exedy clutch ebc discs front & rear redstuff ceramic pads ( rear ) yellowstuff ( front ) whiteline arb bushes whiteline handling kit prodrive geometrey twin core radiator these things where on the car when i got it ..... still to add my own touch to it !!!
RS Grant Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I'm a fan of the RB5's mate... Looks lots like a car I used to see every now and again, dont suppose it belonged to a guy named Kenny thats now got a Supra?? Probably not, lol, RB5's tend to look similar unless modified. Really clean lookin car anyway, and I the wee pootch would just have to look at a spotty car thief and the guy'd run a mile!! Cheers, Grant
2559B Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 hi grant....... i did buy it from kenny "madk" on the forum. i do believe he now has a supra..... ( 600bhp) if i remember correctly !!! do you know him ? seen you at crail on sunday.... think you where arriving as we were leaving. how did you get on ? ally. p.s. - the "security system" is quite good eh !!
RS Grant Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Yea, I'm friends with a few people that know him... Remember seeing him up at Crail a few times in that RB when I was running my old MY99, your car used to have the plate T*KE U, does it still have the big red switch near the handbrake?? I'm sorry I missed you guys, will try and make it along a wee bit sooner the next time!! I managed a 12.6 in the GT4, which I was pretty happy with, couldnt stop the wheels from spinning all the way through 1st gear..... Gonna have to sort that out if I'm going to improve at USSC on the 21st!! Cheers, Grant
2559B Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 yeah i think it did have that plate. no red switch ??? ( what was that for ? nitrious? ) very good time ..... my mate has a turbo'd corsa, has the same problem. too much power, not enough grip
RS Grant Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Yes mate, the car used to run Nitrous.. and I *think* that Kenny's best time up the 1/4 mile was a 12.7 when he was running it?! Yea I could imagine that he'd have some traction problems in that Corsa, although, I was kind of hoping that I'd be ok with 4WD!! Cheers, Grant
2559B Posted August 9, 2005 Author Posted August 9, 2005 got minced on the strip by a green wagon ..... pretty sure it had nitrous. some people like it , some don't. personally i like it !!!
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Hey man nice looking motor, i remember seeing it parked up when i was in line at Crail on Sunday. I remember your alloys and thinking how nice they looked on the scooby! Sorry to see that Nova got the better of ya, he ended up getting the better of me by 0.06s according to the Crail website times ... so close!!
martyn_slorach Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Nice one Ally, looks clean! STI rear lights would look good on yer RB5, I think they really suit them. I see you're half way to detangoing it anyway. Here's a piccy of mine Martyn
ian_finlayson Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Always good to see another RB5 in scottish scoobs, we must try and get the RB5s together in scotland soon, there are quite a few of us. By far the nicest classic there was. The most subtle anyway.
