Gumball Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Anyone know where i can get my STI wheels powder coated for a decent price in Glasgow??? also, how long does it take roughly to get 4 wheels done and handed back??? presumably i need to take the wheels there minus the toyos?
the squiggle Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Place out in Thornliebank Ind Est does it for about £30 a wheel Cant remember the name of the place but it is round the back next to the coachbuilders Grant
ally-b Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 I'd wheels refurbed by clicky They did a good job for £37 a corner , that was : remove old tyres , refurb + fitting and balancing the Toyos I supplied . They are off South Street , Whiteinch. HTH, Al.
ian_finlayson Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Haven't used them but Gordon Hazletons in Hliington have a good rep. £45 per wheel 3 to 5 day turnaround inc. refurb which you dont need I think. Others here seem better value. Let us know which you use and how good they are Ian
pmacFTO Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Auto Image also do it - and they remove and re-fit your tyres - £35 a corner. I use the Edinburgh branch but they have a Glasgow one too - dunno where
chrissy Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 esp powdercoating, the people that were at the f+m show. IIRC they were about 30 quid a wheel. www.espcoating.co.uk 0141 3363800
JohnSt Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Follow that... ESP, doesn't look very posh, but they bend over backwards..... and do a great job. ---john---
Grovit Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Chris I had my RL7's done at re-coat - 0141 958 1777 - based in Glasgow just 5 mins from the SECC. I used them as they were recommended to me by a friend. Cost circa £150.00, and they took the tyres off the alloys for me - dropped them off one weekend and picked them up the next. I had them done last december and the alloys were painted white ( a fairly un-compromising colour I think you'll agree !!).................and the finish is superb - paint is rock hard and does not chip and the finish is baby skin smooth. The wheels have been on the car since then and the finish is as good as the day I picked them up. 5 star service I'd say and will be using them to get my prodrive alloys done
Guest Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 re-coat can also do a same day service if you call them.
