What turbo and front mount?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am looking to get a new turbo that can handle up to 400bhp with a front mounted intercooler to accompany this.

I hear that the 20G may be the one but dont really know what advice to take. also what front mount is suitable other than the APS?

what else should i get in preperation for another re-map?face-icon-small-confused.gif

A helmet and a 4 point safety harness? Some sort of teather that keeps the car firmly attached to the ground?

Sounds like you're really trying to push for some big numbers.

And I like it.

pretty much out the factory with a prodrive system, uprated fuel pump and a remap.

kicks out some good ponies and is very torquey just now.

good told recently by the main man that in order to get a full potential from a remap again i need to change teh turbo and the intercooler.

so that im not paying a lot of cash to be limited at 350bhp.

*edited cos i cant spell*

It's pretty sad. Are we all in IT? I know I am.

Anyway, I wouldn't know a good Turbo and Intercooler as my knowledge of parts, brands, and how in the hell they all fit together is only just getting past the complete beginner stage.

Maybe I'm being very newbie and non-technically minded, but big turbo = more lag? So would a nice Twin Scroll unit fit the bill?

Also, I don't know if it's out of your price range, but Nasa have some solid fuel rocket boosters going cheap if they can't get this shuttle off the ground.

Chris

My thoughts are if you are going to go for more than 350bhp you need to do some engine internal stuff so why not get a 2.5l block. Miek had discussed doing it in a staged manner. ie drop in the 2.5l first pay for that then move onto the intercooler, turbo and maps...

STI 8 i'm taking it is your car due to the sig. The STI 8 TMIC is very good i would say there is no need to replace it to see 400bhp. Plus the last i remember is the hybrid is still only made for classic shape.

Andy's 18G's seem to be the new in thing and should produce 380bhp maybe a little more.

This is what i would do

walbro pump

SX reg

18g turbo

full de-cat (open neck) downpipe

Ecutek remap

ported headers
