clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Just a little update, as I now have most of the parts on the Scooby that I had originally planned. I have to say that I absolutely love the car and would recommend one to anyone that can afford to run them. The power delivery is effortless compared to my previous car (CTR), as I am sure Cal will appreciate, and especially with the prodrive springs on now the handling is fantastic. Here is a little list of the mods so far.................. ?05 STi UK Version 9 in Crystal Grey 1. Prodrive PFF-7 Alloys with 225/40/18 Pirelli P Zero Nero?s, 2. Prodrive Lowering Springs (-20mm) and 4 Wheel Laser Alignment, 3. Prodrive Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Set, 4. Magnex 5" Japanese Full Cat Back System, 5. Scot Lowe STi Mud Flaps (Pink on Black), 6. Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD Monitor, 7. Pioneer CD-IB100 Ipod Adapter. But this all means nothing without pictures??????so what do you think? Dave
clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Thanks for the positive comments. I think that the dark anthracite PFF-7's really go well with the new colour (crystal grey), so all I did was make sure that the colour scheme keep going with all the other mods. Ta Dave

clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 << A wee edit with the pics displayed - hope no-one minds, i find it easier to see all the pics on one screen P.S. Cracking-looking motor mate >> Thanks for that - could you tell me how you managed to include the pics in the actual text? I have only been able to add them as attachments to date!! Dave
oobster Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 erm..... aye, i coudl TRY & explain, i'm no very good at explaining myself. What i do (this may not be the most time-efficient way): Load your attachments as normal, then go back into your post by pressing edit button @ the bottom. Then, what you need to type in is >img border=0 src="http://forums.sidc.co.uk/attachments//mypic.JPG"< IMPORTANT PART - i have had to "reverse" the more-than (>) and less-than (<) symbols for the purpose of this post - when your doing it for real it needs to start with a < and end in a > ALSO - change the mypic.JPG to the name of the file(s) you've uploaded. If you do more than one, go down onto the next line and add another img border=0 src="" etc etc Hope i've made things clear!! If not, just ask
clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 That is as clear as mud - but I get the idea. Thanks for that, i'll try doing it next time. Dave
Johnny50 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Personally i dont think it's that nice.... Ayyyyeeee right ! Gorgeous car Dave, looks superb, and nice subtle mods.
clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Thanks guys. If anyone has any other ideas for the motor I would like to hear them as I have run out (for the time being). The wifee would kill me if she knew. Hee hee.
fai17 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 looking GREAT m8 I love the new colour..... It doesn't look as fast as the WR BLUE thou.....
oobster Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 David, How about getting the front headlights de-tango'd? I got mine done a couple of weeks ago, and in my opinion it makes quite a difference to the front end. Jamie (H15OOB) done mine, took him approx. 2 hours. Not 100% positive on this one, but how about a very slight window tint all round too? Not too dark though, i don't think your colour of car would suit it. Just my thought!!

Not too sure about the window tints as the cops may have something to say about having the front windows tinted. Although it would look good with light smoke all the way around. Ta for the hints. Anymore? Dave
Johnny50 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 A nice Scott Lowe front splitter would be my next purchase if it were mine.

Anymore? Dave >> I've got a light-smoke tint all round on my car & never had any bother with the rozzers. I think they target cars with the really dark smoke. Could be wrong though. De-Tango'ing the front lights isn't just a case of putting Silvatec bulbs in. See THIS thread for pics of mine done. It involves removing the complete headlight, unscrewing about 8 or 9 small screws on each unit and using hot water and/or a hairdryer to soften the sealant between the lense and the back. Once the lense is off, the orange triangular bit of plastic comes out in about 2 seconds, then it all gets sealed back up again. As i say, it took Jamie about an hour per headlight from start to finish, and made quite a difference to the front of the car (in my opinion).
clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 That looks really good - I will have to think about that seriously. I am not too sure about the splitter idea as my scooby is lowered and having the splitter on may make it too low.................it would look good though. Dave
st3ph3n Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Looking good Dave. Looking very good indeed. I'm waiting on some bits coming form Scott Lowe, including a spitter. Once they arrive you can check out the picture and see what you think. I personally think they look the absolute business, and would really finish off the front end of your car. This link should show you what to expect it to look like on your own car.
clutdav Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Oh my that car is rather nice. Not too sure on the rear wing though - a little too stuck-on for my liking but the splitter looks good doesn't it! If I did go for a splitter I don't know if I would get the colour-coded one or the carbon fibre one?????????? Hmmmmm...................ideas are dangerous to the bank balance. Dave
RS Grant Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 I would go for the Carbon Splitter, would tie in well with the black flaps and dark wheels.... oh and the very light smoked tints all round!! Stunning car mate!! Cheers, Grant
st3ph3n Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Not sure if I'd get the carbon splitter or just the regular which is matt black if I had the STI. Either way I wouldn't colour code.
imprezapete Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 Police are targetting all front aftermarket tints from a lot of friends have been saying. Few work mates have had them ripped off by the police then and there or it was a fine. Its been a few months but I know the have been told to target illegal tints. Back side and back tints are ok but front and front side are not allowed.
