YOU MUST READ THIS IT COULD BE YOU NEXT! hi guys and ladies im just back my happy hols or this would have been posted up last week here goes 2 sunday's ago i was parked up at the Shell petrol station at the Maybury casino, i was facing the casino waiting to meet a mate, it was around 2110. i noticed a red mitsy shogun jeep bright red short wheel base one, it was facing me across the road and had headlamps on full beam, i could see there was 4 men inside it and they were all looking a me so i looked right back at them, at first i thot it was my mate, the jeep the drove into shell blocked the koisk window and 3 of the guys run upto me and shoted " get out the car b4 i stab you" im 6ft 5in and was sitting slumped in my seat, again they shoted get out the f*%kin car do you want stabbed, i then looked at there hand i could see no knife so iom now thinking are they mayb trying to do a happy slaaper on me, but then the wee dick tried to take my keys while car was running, i grabbed his wrist but he sliiped thru he then tried my door he pulled it open and i grabbed it back pulling it to stop them geting it he was shouting get out now, then i just lost the plot as i sat up the wee dick shat pants i whacked my door right off his legs he went down the 4th guy then started beeping horn and shouting move hurry up i got out of car like a mad man tried to get my masterbar out as i turned to chase them the drove right out infront of a taxi and headed to airport. i did have a time a bad clutch if id given chase i wou have killed my car. i drove home to broxburn called police they came 2.5 hours later took statment i had given good details, 6days later ident unit call asking for prints off cars turn out coulding get god ones, then came home to be told by CID that CCTV in station was very very poor and that they couldnt get anything, but are going to keep it open incase i find there car. so if you see a RED MITISY SHOGUN SWB 3DOOR reg HU51 couldnt get the rest of it happend to quick driver is lanky with short black spikey hair and also a sh15 bag. many thanks for reading BE SAFE AND CARFULL cheers Damian silver wrx import K590 ***

Once I took a breath reading that!!!.... Guy from Toad that fitted my alarm 4 weeks ago told me modern Scoobs are un-nickable hence hijacking is the only way to get them. The alarm he fitted has anti-hijack that locks the doors when the engine is started. Wasn't convinced to start with - What if I'm in a smash and can't get out kinda thing - but now I've read this, I'm happy I'm locked in.

Really sorry to hear this... Kind of makes me glad I moved the Scoob on, this stuff used to be confined to London&England but it seems to have spread north of the border.

Once you kill the ignition the doors automatically open.. dont think they'd automatically open a'la Audi Central Locking system once its senses the impact...... as its an aftermarket system you've had fitted.

Take care guys and hopefully those ar$eholes run into someone that has a few big mates following them in another car, on a quiet country lane where no 5/0 or CCTV can help the scummy bassas!!

maybe just me being a big fearty barsteward, but if that was me they could have taken the car..... no peace of metal is worth getting stabbed over.

Suppose you never know how you'll react until it happens to you though. Anger might get the better of you.

Hope the police get off their lazy backsides and trace this mob and charge them.

I've got the ordinary subaru sigma alarm and am pleased that it locks the doors as soon as I turn the ignition on. A pain when passengers want out but not too bad if someone is trying to get in. I dont have pentagon supaglass tints but any tint is going to stop window glass from falling if attacked for a short while I just hope it would be long enough for me to pull off. Also another good thing is that if you dont know how to disable the immobiliser (again standard, I am sure we all know but I dont want to advertise it to "others") if the car has been open too long.

Still scary though. Got a good tip from neilsdir yesterday - when stopping at traffic lights stop with enough room infront of you to be able to pull away if an optimistic attacker comes running.

Oh and tracker, it is a must with a scooby, never mind insurance I want my car back if it goes bye bye. AND I hide the keys in the house when I am out

Thats not good. Doesn't particulary surprise me that it has happened round there.

Lots of nice cars parked up there and quick exits to the M8 and M9 so by the time the police get there they are well away.

Glad you managed to hold onto the car. Does that mean that you have fixed the oil leak??

Chris - I was concerned about the "tool" sliding about but it does sit perfectly at the side of my seat probably the bend on the end and the rubber handle combine to hold her still. It has never moved in the year or so it has been there.

as i had window down he managed to unlock door in the strugle ive a clifford puppy that locks door when cars on, also a clifford imob and tracker they wouldnt have got far as clutch was gone at time as soon as turbo came in it just slipped.

Willie- oil leak sorted replace both crank gaskets new sump, new clutch, new dump valve, timming belt, and service, now ive got a idle prob it stays at 1500-2000rpm and wont ide at 900-1000rpm, using alot of fuel too, dont have any air leaks check it all out, starting to melt my brain,

p.s mind i still have your tyres just incase you needed them.

The CID said they cant do much which i can understand shell hasnt paid for good CCTV system so if your ever in need of quick cash you know where to go lol.

door had small dent took off panel and pop there it was minted again.

i had looked at them all and i couldnt see a knife in any of there hands i didnt care at time to be honest i just knew they were not taking my car red mist and all that id have put them in A+E for a while thats for sure.
