sKunk Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I could seriously have done with some OB today. The car was not happy at all with half a tank of crap on the run down from Braemar. Time to pick up a case and keep it in the boot me thinks

ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 << guess who's the strange man in the bushes? was it navigator extrodinaire the swiggmeister >> bet you were gutted that it was not the toilets as per usual

Gee Wr1 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Myself & Miss Scooby had a really good day out Thanks very much Imy & Grant for organising a great run, some fantastic roads that we'd never been on before. Cheers for inviting us for a bite to eat before heading back up the A9, kept us going Got back home around 10 having clocked up 315 miles today & plenty of Optimax. Was actually surprised how many miles Wr1 was getting to the tank, lot better than expected Lol at pic of Jacqui's fuel gauge!!!!! Just made it to the pumps Took a few pics on the move but not looked at them yet, will put up any good ones tomorrow. Thanks for a great day Graeme & Jacqui
duke Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 yeah that wrc wannabe focus was really wide .... haha - that stretch of road was the best, tyres got nice and sticky and the previous snow had cooled the brakes -1st time i had the GT4 near limits, 2nd and 3rd gear all the way and on those long sweeping corners punched up into 4th :shock when i saw the speedo - brakes then blued haha. karps, your navigation skills are great, the RAC map was wrong - must have been the snow affecting you - TheSquirrel555 - was it you that i over took and pulled in qucik, sorry if so, i was 2ft in the air and had to pullin since i couldnt scrub the speed off for the corner :shock -that rolling hill bit was awsome, car was sideways, airborne and the lsd was working overtime, plenty of 2nd gear shennanigans more of the same please. i do think we have the best driving roads - simply great. the unhinged lot proved to be quite, err unhinged - as soon as i fettle some goodies on the 'four i'll get a little unhinged too :lol Amiral, good to meet you again, need you to show me the roads a'la MLR open day - also give me a shout when ur going to hot marques, seems like you could offer a few tips and tricks (i've still a track virgin). cheers dudes, Nyle
The Admiral Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hi m8! Yeah - good to catch up Next Hot Marques Monday 6th June here Maybe see & hear a few Scoobs there too? Cheers Rog 62s Knockhill lap in Phil's 500bhp EVO 6 - 20MB
p3dro Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 << To the one who did the handbrake turn at Dufftown, you know who you are, Gonna no dae that, just gonna no. >> Dunno if your talking about me, if so it was a quarter of a turn, if that, at about 2 mph just a wee correction. Marks left on the car park were tiny. If I offended you or anyone else I apologise but I don't think that it was going to give us a bad name considering all of us in the unhinged group were giving it the big un while stickered up with SIDC logo's. Also complaints about driving and road blocks? Anyway if your not talking about me I will shut up and next time just gimme a wee nudge on the day instead of posting eh? As for the Day.... Well what can I say, you have managed to organise another fantastic day with brilliant roads. Big thanks to you and Imy we had an absolute blast. Wagon Sport driver, how did you manage to stay on the road matey, biiiig moment. Weather sorted us all out, great fun wet or dry. Chris, your a nutter m8. Wilky, bad manners man!!!!! but I will let ya off Vixter, cheers for comin had a blast and you drove like a demon at the end. Good to meet more folk and put some names to faces as usual. I will do my best to behave and not upset and locals next time eh Oh yeah and that silver wagon was the nicest car on the day in my opinion.
Vixter Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Yes guys had a really nice day it was brilliant the roads were great and so were the range of scoobies. So thanks to the organisers a top day got to say the highlight ha to be that 1/4 hand break turn in the really empty car park That will be the same car park Pedro sked me to slow down in when we went for fuel because it had filled up and there were kids about.(and you were right) Any way thanks for letting me drive the last stage Pete loved it. Also was most enjoyable being a passenger some amazing views up there. On a sad note the absence of Ms 6scub was well noted and i hope it doesn't happen again. Cause i missed ya Oh and who's Victor Willkie didn't know you were that way inclined. Mind you were nearly on my knee pulling out if that car park and i wasn't even in the same car as you so maybe i'm wrong.
wilky Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 << Oh and who's Victor Willkie didn't know you were that way inclined. Mind you were nearly on my knee pulling out if that car park and i wasn't even in the same car as you so maybe i'm wrong. >> LOL I though you were Victor during the week and Vixter at weekends! Never mind it was the weekend. Nice to meet you and Pedro. Callum

fraser_drinkwater Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 i hate cameras, i had took 183 photos and something happened when syncing with the pc and ive lost them all
weeb Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Fantastic day, used loads of fuel, got tested on brilliant roads and every weather with crazy scooby drivers as far as the eye could see, until a few of us got lost that is!!! i will have to polish up on my map reading!! my eyes didnt pick up the bit in the book that said "if you get to the roundabout you have went to far!!" oooooooppps and i kept going to we got to a road with loads a snow on it!!! clocked up 450mls by the time i got home!!! All i have to now is find my licence and mot and take it to the feds!!! p.s. if the police get commission for booking folk they would have been rubbing their hands together yesterday afternoon!!!
The Admiral Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I spoke to the 55 year old bike cop, sent on his own to deal with a complaint from the public about "Subarus racing on the road". He was OK, and just talked about bikes, the cop not done for doing 160etc... I thought that was that as we headed off, but he must have called his m8s to get you guys later? B@stards Just be rally careful not to identify ANYONE involved with ANYTHING - I'm in court next month charged with dangerous driving for overtaking a van at 40mph - go figure This is based on witness statements from the van driver and the car driver behind only... Anyway, despite being on 11.9995 points, I had a Great day and it looked like everyone else did too
Size Nine Elm Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hi guys, Sorry, don't mean to be a downer here, but the driving standard was not all good. I was one of the TVR drivers you passed going up to Blairgowrie, and again past Bridge of Cally. I have no problem with the speeds on the road, and no problem with most of the overtaking, but three of the overtakes past me (quite apart from anyone else) were into blind corners, or blind crests. 1. Just after the Meikleour hedge, overtake on a restricted view left hander, on double whites in the middle of the road. 2. Past Bridge of Cally, one Scooby past me, another TVR, caravan, and back in a little before a blind bend. Fine. Second Scooby followed through, and back onto left side of road at the bend. No margin. 3. Worst of the lot. Scooby out from behind one TVR, past it, past me, fine, I lifted to leave a gap before the caravan I was behind. Scooby ignored gap and overtook the caravan over a blind crest. Zero visibility. And some of the other guys had a few similar observations. Go for a hoon by all means, but leave out the suicidal antics - I'd rather the police didn't have the excuse to start taking even more interest in performance car outings. Glad you enjoyed the day out though - we only did the 350 miles. (This is not meant to start a flame war, just an observation by a 'keen' road driver - so you can imagine the views of any grannies you were passing). Neil
