allan_thorne Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I did have the new road angel but due to the fact it did not warn me of a laser speed trap which was later explained to me why. I changed over to the road pilot and got to say it's far better than the road angel clicky p.s. how do I upload a pic direct on to the site without a link

2559B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 does it not annoy you if you.. err.. "SLIP" over the speed limit and it starts to bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep.. ???
allan_thorne Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 it dosen't beep when ever I slip over the speed limit. also got a wee gizmo fitted down by the number plate
2559B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 better clarify "slipping" over ... suppose on a 70mph stretch of our majestys finest carriageway.. when would the wee beastie begin to bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..?? are we talking silent at 75-80? then bleeps after that?
allan_thorne Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 << better clarify "slipping" over ... suppose on a 70mph stretch of our majestys finest carriageway.. when would the wee beastie begin to bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..bleep..?? are we talking silent at 75-80? then bleeps after that? >> well I've had mine up 116mph on a private stretch of road ofcourse and it has not beeped at me yet.
2559B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 aahhh.. i see. good to know. was gonna get one when i got tracker fitted but that put me off. may now reconsider. HOWEVER!!! if you where on a private stretch of road..then surely the wee beastie would know this (GPS) and obviously no speed limit would apply?? LOL
robinh20mrv Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 well..........i have the road angel 2 and find it very good, though all laser detctors are useless (imho) as if you detect them, they have zapped you!!! thus nicked!!! however if you had a jammer fitted................and yes i do have a remote garage door no, really i do!!! and they are NOT ilegal in scotland YET !!! cheers, robin.
2559B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 << and they are NOT ilegal in scotland YET !!! cheers, robin. >> is that a definite robin????
robinh20mrv Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 acording to my solicitor it is, BUT i DO have a remote garage door so if you were to fit one to your garage.................... as i said though, ANY detctor will only let you know you have been targeted, and if you have been targeted, your f**ked!! unless you have a garage door remote opener........... cheers robin,
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Piccy as promised........... edit :- I love this as you can slide off the screen and take it with you when you leave the car Pimp Daddio
st3ph3n Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 I don't suppose anyone has tried using any of the speed cam stuff on a PDA/Smartphone? I'll hopefully be picking up a Bluetooth GPS receiver this week so I'll be giving it a try. I'm using a classic road angel at the moment which is great, but bulky, but it was cheap at £170 in the halfords half price boxing day thing.
sma01 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Scottiescoob, where did you get your "wee gizmo" and what was the cost??got an origin b2 in the car and was thinking about getting one of these fitted
