allan_thorne Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 want to order up some PIAA blades for my new motor can some one tell me the size I require
jamie_wood Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Not a stupid question Very good one tbh!! I dont know. All I do know is there probably isnt two the same!! The two front ones will be like a 21" and a 20" and the rear a 13"???? Pass.......dont know!! Easiest way is to pop out with a measure and check for sure
Bladerider Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I bought PIAA wiper blades three years ago. Total waste of money in my opinion. The drivers side snapped off at the tension arm after two weeks (very thin metal, extremely poor quality). The passenger side lasted a bit longer, (about two months) before it started leaving really bad streaks. They were about double the price of normal blades, but in my opinion were only worth 50 Pence. I emailed the supplier and the manufacturer about them . PIAA ignored me and the supplier told it wasn't their problem. If I were you I'd just buy a set of blades from Halfords, but wear a disguise if you do, in case somebody recognises you as you go in.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I also have a seemingly stupid question - where the hell is the fuel tank warning light on a bugeye ? I haven't dug out the manual yet but cannot see any sort of obvious light ? Any ideas Thanks Cal
johns Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Cal, it's on the dashboard. Just run the car down to the E mark on the fuel gauge and it should kick in when there's roughly 9 litres left in the tank. Most people fill up before the orange/yellow light comes on, and some people run the car for a few days afterwards John
st3ph3n Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 It's below and slightly to the left of the E if the dash is roughly the same as the 05. I've yet to run the risk of having mine turn on, except pulling out of the garage for the first time with 3 tablespoonfuls of petrol in the tank. I had visions of not even getting out of the motorpoint compound.
DonZ Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I bought the PIAA wipers and I think they are excellent. They make no noise and in the winter they do not go hard like standard rubber ones do. You can also buy refills for the arms once you have bought them so I'll save money in the long run. Had them on right through winter and not so much as a line or smear yet. Excellent IMHO.
p1ggm Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 i only use bosch wipers...they are the best i have ever used, and reasonably priced too
fraser_drinkwater Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I use the bosch as well on my both cars
wrxmania Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Bosch are a good buy - reliable and buy 'em on eBay or direct from some of the traders. Just bought a set for mine - £12.75 including postage. Can't argue.
