MY94 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I was told that if I put a poly bag over the alarm, that I could use a jet wash on it..........is this right? Or is the best way to get a rag and use some elbo grease?
john_robertson Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 MC2 multiclean from WaxWizard or CD2 from Halfrauds. Cover all the main electrics, alarms/fuse box etc and cover the IC fins then follow the instructions. John.
dougster Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I have seen the WaxWizard in action and can get some engine bay cleaning products from Mark if required. I also have his method on a saved e-mail and I can guarantee he don't cover nothing!!! 100k bay!!
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Looking good Dougster ! I tend to go for the occasional wip of the main bits with a rag sprayed in WD40. Works a treat and then i spray some WD on the parts that look like potenital corrosions victims ( bolts etc) Cal
fraser_drinkwater Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 You shouldnt use a high pressure spray on rubbers etc as it can break the bond seal and then the problems arise, ie windows etc
scuba dou Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 engine bay Auto Glym Motorbike cleaner (water base product) and jet wash.
dougster Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Cal, before I used Mark's degreaser, cleaner and detailing products some bits were black and I never thought they would turn out white!! The stuff is amazing. If anyone has a jet wash I will get the gear and do the job for a small fee. I also have SupaGuard for sale.
Carl Davey Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I'll second Mark Underwoods home-brewed degreaser. That's a 112,000 mile engine bay by the way. Now it's done 114,000 miles it looks more like the first picture again.
