boabster Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 i bought a oil pressure gaugealong with a boost gauge now i had no problem plumbing in the boost gauge...BUT the oil pressure gauge? problem is the sender for the gauge is a big round sender device and once fitted and it does fit. the problem is i cant get the altinator back on???????? now does anyone know of a fitting kit or a different place to fit the oil pressure sender? would like to keep the 2 gauges the same instead of 2 different ones> all advice is much appreciated guys thanks
Carl Davey Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 If it's the same as my Defi sender then you will have to lose the OE pressure sender. Just unscrew it, secure it somewhere out of the way and screw in the one supplied with the gauge. There is no room for block adaptors or any other tat as you have found out. This does mean that you will lose the low-pressure warning light in your speedo. This is set at a ridiculously low set point anyway so any potential problems should have been spotted on the gauge beforehand.
boabster Posted February 12, 2005 Author Posted February 12, 2005 carl..ive tried that but you need to see the sender i mean its about.......3" high and the same in circumfrance? it screws in no problem at all but when you try to put the altenator back on it misses the adjuster completely.its not as through you could just squees the fan belt on...........???? if i could take a pic o the sender i would and you could tell me what you think? i dont mind losing the oil light. has anybody else other than me and carl had this problem
jamie_wood Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 I normaly fit the Greddy oil block adapter when I fit Gauges. You can fit the sensors fast and safely. It just goes ontp the oil filter manifold and then the oil filter screws onto the adapter. Dont have any in stock just now, and it willl be end of next week before I have any in stock.
johnnyr6 Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 There is a pipe you can get to sort your problem. It extends up past the alternator and you can put the pressure guage sender and the oe sensor onto it. I fitted one with playsatan but i cannot remebmer the company. PM playsatan and he'll give you the details.
colin_ross Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 That'd be me then. Its a t piece thats on the end on a length of braided hose to extend it out of the way of the alt. Because its a t piece you can keep the original presure sender and your warning light. The company that makes then is called Lemans and you can get them from LMA Motorsport, their number is 01234 268213. Have a look on scoobynet underthe Gauge thread in Group Buys, there's load of photos to give you an idea.
robinh20mrv Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 hi jamie, can you give me a price for a adaptor as well please? i looks just what i need! cheers robin.
jamie_wood Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Robin The GReddy oil block adapters are £54.95 Defis start at around £120 and go upto around £155 , depanding on the gauge. But if you mail me the gauges your thinking of, I can price them exactly
