Jimmy Mc Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 If you get caught speeding in the UK do you get done? Does it matter how you get caught i.e gatso, radar, pulled over etc? Not that I would ever consider breaking a speed limit, just curious really!
andy_bray Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 James m8, I have been flashed lots of times in uk...And I have been ok...But I would not do it in the STI for it is still on English plates....
Dave K Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 If caught by gatso your ok i think as manx plates are not on the uk database. And if pulled by a copper you dont get any points, but you may get a fine. AFAIK
heazille Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Me thinks that is about to or just has changed. Sure i read somewhere that the 2 sides meet very soon!! Ta Ta Richard
andy_bray Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 JUST watch out boys and girls , one of my friends is getting done for speeding on the M25 , And he did have manx plates and the police traked him to the Island...
CustomScoobyIOM Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Youre flucked if you are. £250 and 5 points. Tossers.....
Pauleds Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 My Dad lives in Isle of Man at Laxey. He got flashed by a Gatso in Lincoln and the summons arrived at his Manx address. This was in August 2004.English Police and DVLA now have all Manx vehicle details. He made a lot of enquiries to determine how Lincolnshire Police had got his details and was advised by the officer in the case that DVLA had disclosed them on request.
