Liam Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 << Kartman that P1 of yours was bloody quick, at one point i was turning into duffus and saw you coming down the straight, the next thing i knew you were superglued to the back of me car. The rate at which you caught up was unreal, i think i'll need to upgrade to fourpots now. Oh i was in a silver sti2 with white wheels. >> This one?
davefiddes Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 << the Ultima on fire !!! >> That was me! Looked a bit worrying for a bit. Thanks for posting the video...made my day. And my first proper spin too! << THAT mental skyline >> Not half. That was seriously quick! Big thanks to John Stewart for organising things. It was great of you guys to let us non-Scoobies come out to play. Great driving from everyone that was around me anyway too. Hope I didn't hold anyone up too much...it was my first proper track day and I'm still a long way from understanding what the car is capable of. Got a bit more confidence as it quietened a bit towards the end and was able to give the beast full throttle for a bit. Can't get over how impressive the brakes are...much better than the driver that's for sure! Hope to meet up with you guys again next year. Dave
p3dro Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 The flames out the back of your car as I was following you into the hairpin were mad, I could have cooked a steak on them, flame grilled anyone.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Dave, I purposefully trimmed the video clip so that your car regi plate could not be seen. Let me know if you wish me to upload some more footage Can everyone else let me know how they feel about number plates on vid clips as I have footage of almost evryone from the hairpin Thanks Cal
sKunk Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I'm happy to see any vid footage you have of me
dave_morgan Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 << Kartman nice 2 speak 2 u at the end, i was the passenger in the blk type R with Miss Scooby STI (not little miss wrx) & we enjoyed the run round the track with u. Had a quick look at the vid footage we took & the bit filming u in the wing mirror looks quite good bit shakey though. Once i get a chance 2 sort it out i'll send it 2 u. >> Apologies for the 'miss' type, how embarrasing !! I'll fix it now... !!!! Good to speak to you to mate - look forward to battling with the WR1 one day !! Dave p.s.Did I mention how much I enjoyed the day ??
john_robertson Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Great day. big thanks to John (firestarter) for the Pax laps in the EVO and the his idea of fun... lets see if we can clip the marker cones The Ultima on fire at the hairpin was a bit worrying, especially when we were coming down the railway straight and all we could see were the flames leaping out the back of it. The Skyline nuff said Anybody know what happened to the Quattro???? sounded like it was having wastegate problems chirpping all the way up the straight.
evojkp Posted October 26, 2004 Author Posted October 26, 2004 John, I was under the car yesterday and I've lost my offside undertray protection. I can only guess it is lying either at MacIntryes or at Clark next to the cones that were flicked to the side of the track Glad you enjoyed it mate. Geometry has been sorted, so hopefully I'll manage to keep it tidier next time. Or I'll have to try harder to dance around the track.
tim_wilkinson Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 << I am mate. I also was shown a video of it flaming going down duffus as well. Kinda explains how I went through £95 of Optimax in 5 hours, as I was chucking it all out the bloody exhaust >> Aye - and straight into the interior of my elise when I came up behind u (my fault for running with the roof off!!)!!! should have got my pax rigged up with some device to catch it all, would have saved me a fortune........ Tim
john_robertson Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Only problem is, I've now got that horrible track day bug "again" I'll just have to behave myself and stick to my guns of not putting it on the track. Not surprised you've got bits missing the way you were throwing it about hope the new Geom settings are working. John.
UKLooney Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Excellent day out guys, big thanks to all the organisers and for letting us outsiders join in. Felt a bit intimidated at first seeing it was my first track day, but the driving standards were first class and went home with a huge grin on my face. Top class photos from Liam and Chris too. Thanks again, Tony
davefiddes Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Hi Cal, << I purposefully trimmed the video clip so that your car regi plate could not be seen. Let me know if you wish me to upload some more footage >> No problem at all with the reg plate. If you had the lead up to the spin that would be great to see how it all happened. Thanks again for posting the clip. It caused much amusement at work today! Dave
jacqui_robb Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 TheSquirrel555: << Good to meet a few more new faces and MissScoobySTI you know what to do next! >> Cheers for all the advice Good to meet you, and put a face to a name. And yes, I do know what I'll be doing next, thanx

Also, was a big help that i didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to be there for 8am!!! Glad the weather was good for a change, and was great to see all the cars and faces there Thanx to 555RJA, TheSquirrel555, Pedro, Skunk, and Kart-man for coming and saying Hi a BIG thanx to John for organising a fantastic event Cheers

(I was the guy that said cheerio to zeolite on my way home early) >> pmsl Do i get extra points then for doing my Track Day in heeled boots??!! Maybe we could have a track day where all the drivers have to wear heels, just to even things out a bit! Could make for some interesting driving...!!
