cyprusscobby Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 I would like to hear from any Scooby owners in the D&G area as there are, according to Top Gear, more Scoobys here than anywhere in the UK!
the squiggle Posted October 20, 2004 Posted October 20, 2004 I dont stay there as such but do visit Dumfries every day, pick up from Gates Power and would say that there doesn't seem to be any more or less Impreza's than other places, saying that there is a beautiful import Series McRae out at Lochmaben, next to the Glanbia. One day is saw the guy herd cattle with it, by far the strangest use of a Scoob i have ever seen I will say that Dumfries and Galloway has some of the best driving roads in the UK but has the sneakiest traffic cops, 9 points on my licence and not one of them to do with the Subaru, and some of the most dittery, stupidist, ignorant and downright should be in a nursing home, old farts in the whole world Grant 3 favourite roads in D+G Lockerbie to Eskdalemuir Eskdalemuir to Langholm Langholm to Lockerbie When the Shell garage was at Lockerbie i done that triangle four times burning a full tank, back to Lockerbie to fill up then home............................. Awesome
cyprusscobby Posted October 21, 2004 Author Posted October 21, 2004 Yeah its weird but according to Top Gear, D+G and Shetland have the highest concentration of Scoobys in the UK! One more when I import my new beast back! Your right about the roads, we have some great roads for blasting down! And the cops, yeah I totally agree! B*stards gave me 3 points!
Power Junkie Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 I think Aberdeenshire would beat D+G.. There are loads of us
cyprusscobby Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Yeah think your probably right! Loads of Scoobys in Aberdeenshire! (too much money!-lol)
dougster Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 The chap that I bought my H&S bb was from Dumfries and we met outside the Subaru dealership (which is no longer there). He had a green classic with 555 on the plate. We are talking 3 1/2 years ago though.
DEVLIN Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 My scoobs previous owner was from Aberdeen. (traded it in for an Alfa - nutter)
Bladerider Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 Impreza's are common as muck where I live (a wee town in North Ayrshire). There are four in my street, and seven in my housing estate. I've no idea how many in the town but I see them everywhere.
cyprusscobby Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 I bought my last Scooby, a '99 Turbo 2000 from New Cumnock and there seems to be loads in Aryshire. I hear The Subaru garage is good there!
derek_robertson Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Hi Cyprusscooby Ain't no subaru garage in New Cumnock M8 Also don't remember a scoob of that model or year being in the village, except my old one which ended up in Auchinleck!!!!!! (It was a red wagon:cool Sold the mongoose system of my last scoob to a chap from Sanquhar with a black classic saloon Cheers Del
gambler Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 Im from dumfries. There are 7-8 scoobs in town. Dont really know any of them that well. Not sure if they are members of sidc. Never seen any of them at track days etc
gambler Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I do agree about our fantastic roads. The a701 ' devils beeftub' road to edinburgh is always fun. And bikers always on that road in the summer to play with. Its a great warm up for knockhill We do have some shocking drivers though, esp on the a75. Always some old fart in a nissan micra causing a 2mile long traffic jam
DEVLIN Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Hey Gambler , done the Devils Beeftub at our last jaunt "another-jaunt" What a road. Barry.

the squiggle Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Based around Castle Douglas and uses a lot of the Scottish rally stages. It usually attracts a lot of the Irish boys in thier WR machinary. Service area last year was at Wallaces market in C.D, we could all rendezvous here to head to the stages. Last year was very cold so wrap up super well Me and Scoobay are meeting up prior to heading down at Dalry Grant
