dooahhdoo Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Myself and some friends opposed to an all island speed limit are organising a jaunt around the TT course on Sunday 3rd October. This should be after the report by the DOT stating what they are planning to do (we all know what the outcome will be dont we?). This jaunt BTW will not be for the fainthearted as over the 37 and three quarter mile circuit we plan on not exceeding 30MPH. To do this we are hoping for 30-40 cars. A good SIDC meet can be a quarter of these so I am counting on you guys helping out. I plan on borrowing a big van for this jaunt so dont think you need to take the scoob This will be a peaceful protest but we should get some media attention also (where is Boxer23 when you need him LOL). Who is up for it?
WRX IOM Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Think i am in the UK that weekend with my Scooby. Having an alarm fitted as the choice on the Island is S**T!!! and way over priced!!! No names mentioned but i think we all know who they are!!!! Excellent idea though!! I would say 20mph would be better. Bring the island to a complete stand still!!
dooahhdoo Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Since this is very important can we stay on topic on this one please?
RIO Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 i will be there, i have asked around at work too and there will hopefully be a posse of us, all in separate cars. 20mph sounds good, cause as much congestion as possible so as to magnify the problems with the reduced speed limit (trying to justify their ignorance and stupidity)
Cret Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 If mine can manage to run continually for a hour or so without continually cutting out & stalling then I'll try to join in too!
dooahhdoo Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Jim, the bigger the better so bring the strange rover with the boat on the back
Cret Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Well one of the wheels came off the boat trailer driving it down from ramsey so I don't fancy chancing losing another one!!
CustomScoobyIOM Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 I could bring our company 17.5 tonner!
heazille Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Just my car will do mate!!! Ouch sorry Richard Still Scoobyless on Scooby Island

dave-of-man Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 evening all, what time and where from on the 3rd, i might be able to get a coach or two
dooahhdoo Posted September 21, 2004 Author Posted September 21, 2004 Dave, just in the planning stages at the moment as we are awaiting the report due out the end of this month. If it says what we think it is going to say then it will be full steam ahead
Jimmy Mc Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Didn't realise it but I was in the same room as that Shimmin bloke a couple of months ago!! If only I knew what he looked like, I could have taken him out of the equation.....
Jimmy Mc Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 I will be taking part in the Diesel Dog. Don't think i'd get over 30mph anyway!
CustomScoobyIOM Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 We could push Richards Type R around the course as it doesnt have an engine in
robert_harding Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Nick, did this happen and how did it go.?
heazille Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Believe we are still waiting for the report!! Goverment talking here so could be a while! Just as well really, might just have a car to use then!! Ta Ta Richard Still Scoobyless on Scooby Island (134 days)]
