tim_wilkinson Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Thats great Jools - thanks for accomodating me in the morn Tim
Chick Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 I just got my first Scooby a couple of weeks ago, shame I hadn't seen this thread earlier, would have liked to put my name on the list! Am goin away this weekend now so can't go Will keep ma eye out for future events though. Carl I reckon I met you before, I recognise the car, did you used to have an RS Turbo? I think I bought some front springs off you a few months back?
Carl Davey Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Chick, that be me i reckon. Charlie wasn't it? Did you ever get your project finished mate? Jools, i'll have to confirm Andrew Whitelaws attendance for the morning session but will update the thread asap. Same goes for Mr Wood and his Evo VII but i can't see any reason why they shouldn't run. I'll do my best to get there for 10am (hangover and all) to log the results.
Russs Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 << but Gavin will be on his own; apart from me helping where I can. >> Gavin will not be on his own Nice to see you have a tidy running order sorted out Was getting a little worried about shifting the rollers and fans around for every car
Power Junkie Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 That looks like a good order! I cant wait to do it now
Chick Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 Yeah, that's me Carl, I still haven't got it on the road yet, I rebuilt the whole thing and got as far as getting the rebuilt engine in it until I ran out of money/time and I sold the engine off to a mate that has a van with an RS engine in it. I still got the rest of it and am intending finishing it and selling it. I got myself a tidy MY99 UK turbo now, only 40K on the clock and not a scratch on it (yet!) Lookin out for a few bits an bobs to tart it up a bit too. Will get it on the rollers some time too, shame I can't make it to this event though, all the best for the day m8.
Grumbler Posted September 22, 2004 Posted September 22, 2004 i had my name down on the list but i have not been given a time. is it ok if i go in either 1 or 2?
scuba dou Posted September 22, 2004 Author Posted September 22, 2004 Mucho apologies Grumbler now added to group 2 with the classics. OK folks some news regarding group orders for the day. Please note that this event will be a first for Wallace Performance and myself (as having organised it) so be gentle with us. Looked at the requests I have had and tried to accommodate people best I can. We hope to manage 4 cars per hr and Gavin Wallace does want to spent time with the drivers explaining the RR system to them in detail, so I have gone for groups so that several drivers can attend at once, rather than as individuals. The order in the groups listed below in not necessarily the running order, but please show up in good time for your group start time. Group 1; 10 am to 12 am · Tim W, Elise · Numptie; WestyBlade · CT; Tiger Supercat · Jockey; Fiat coupe turbo 20vt · Catherine Ross; surprise entry · Andrew Whitelaw, Astra Coupe Turbo · Mike Abz, 2000 Accord Type R · Craig; Clio V6 · Iain Cameron; Seat Leon Group 2; 12 am to 2 pm · Ken Ross; Sti 2 555 Limited Edition · Ewan; turbo wagon MY94 · Rossyboy; 93 WRX · Simbo; 93 wrx · Wooosh; P1 · Power Junkie; Sti V5 Type R · Carl Davey; ?white magic? turbo 4 door MY98 · ShaunG; turbo 4 door MY00 · Grumbler Sti 2 Group 3; 2 pm to 4 pm · Jools; Sti7 MY02 · BKS 6; Sti7 MY02 · Numptie; Sti7 MY02 · CT; Sti7 MY02 · JohnS, Sti7 MY02 · Young KeithP, Sti8 MY03 · Boyakasha, Sti8 MY03 · Callum Wood, Evo VII Remember the prices; £25 for SIDC members and £30 for non SIDC members.
MikeABZ Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 Ignore this Managed to get hold of a van for tomorrow afternoon instead of Sunday so still free for this! Mike
Russs Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Sorry, should have introduced myself properly the 1st time I am the rolling road operator as of 1st October, but will be around on Sunday just for you guys Gav, Neil and I will be there all day, so if you have any questions please feel free to approach any of us and introduce yourself. We will be nice, I promise One request - can you all please make sure your cars are warmed and ready to go when your allocated time slot comes up? We have alot of cars to fit in and if we have to warm them up on the rollers it will take up too much time. Marc had a good point about mud flaps, some of you guys like your flaps big As for splitters etc, clearance is unlikely to be an issue - with this this type of dyno bed the wheels sit more "on" the rollers than "in" them. We will be careful anyway. I'm sure it will be a good day, I'm certainly looking forward to it Cheers Russ
Wooosh Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 going "in" with mudflaps is OK, coming "out" will be the problem as they can get snagged under the tyre.
Russs Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 << going "in" with mudflaps is OK, coming "out" will be the problem as they can get snagged under the tyre. >> Marc demonstrated this very well the other day. His tape worked a treat. We will try to have some at hand in case his runs out.
Boyakasha Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Hi Russ, looking forward to Sunday. I'll be poping in tonight as I believe Gav has some goodies for me. As Russ said, if you tape the mudflaps up at the front then they will not catch. Need good tape and make sure under your sills/Mudflaps are clean and dry so the tape will stick. It's not a lot of effort that could save you some grief PS Look out for Russ, he likes to run big power under disguise Marc
Russs Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Cheers Marc. Goodies?! Intrigued.............. Hope you all enjoy the karting on Saturday too, I'm jealous
Carl Davey Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Russs, is this the same C20LET Russ whose manual i 'stole' some scans from? Callum is adamant he isn't running his Evo on Sunday so probs best to scrub him from the list for the time being. Just away to call Andrew to double check his situation.

Allow the only UK copy of an extremely useful engine manual into the public domain?!!!! Hi Carl Get your Evo mate to come along anyway. I'm sure when he sees all the other cars run his mind will be changed. He certainly won't have a complaint about the cooling fans
Carl Davey Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Cool! You'll have to show me around thee Cally Russ. Still got a big soft spot for the ol' C20LETs and i've heard your isn't a bad example. If you're taking it up to Aberdeen of course? I'm pretty sure Callum will run once he's seen the other cars go on but he's pulling every excuse out of the hat at the moment lol...
Numptie Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Hi, Too lazy to trawl through the whole thread, so ... Is this the right address? Wallace Performance Unit 17-18 Murcar Commercial Park Denmore Rd Bridge Of Don Aberdeen AB23 8JW Cheers, N

Numptie Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 << Numptie , have you destroyed any timing gear recently >>
MacLeod Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 Hi all. Sorry to say that I was away for this event otherwise I would have been along myself. How did it all go? Is there going to be another event held or any kind of SIDC discount available for individual bookings (I think the price mentioned for that was £40?) -- MacLeod
