Stephen Gallet
Hello everyone, I'm a 49 year old Chartered Surveyor from Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, about to embark on something between a midlife crisis and trip down memory lane, as I have just brought a 2007 Impreza STI Type UK, totally original and having only done 12,000 miles since new with just two recorded keepers. I was lucky enough to buy a similar car brand new in 2006 and was in fact the first person in the UK to order a black one, which I later added the PPP to along with a few other mods and after 60,000 miles and three years of ownership reluctantly sold it and regretted doing so ever since. The image below was taken of me and the sales manager in the dealership in 2006 for an article Subaru did when they were launching the car. For those wondering, after a bit of haggling I paid £25,000 for my recent purchase, reflective of the low mileage and that fact that it hasn't been modified at all. Unbelievably, it still has the same tyres on it that it came out of the factory wearing. I will drive the car, but only on occasions and it will be garaged for most of the time to keep the mileage down. I've joined SIDC to get to know like minded people and to hopefully attend some of the meetings that take place to meet other Subaru owners. Best wishes to all and I hope to see some of you soon! 2 Link to comment
STImulation
Welcome to the Subaru International Drivers Club Stephen 👋 Congratulations on your recent purchase What colour have you gone for this time? That's a great angle of the Hawkeye 📷 We have quite a few Events lined up for next year which will be posted up nearer the confirmed dates in the SIDC Shows and Meets section, https://sidc.co.uk/forums/forum/132-sidc-shows-and-meets/ The dates are generally quite similar each year for the Shows, which can give an idea of when they tend to be for the next year. We have Meet n' Drive coming up, and the SIDC Christmas Dinner, usually near the end of November, details yet TBC 🎄 Hope to see you and your Hawkeye at some future Shows and Meets! Stephen Gallet
Thank you STImulation (good name by the way) for your warm welcome. The new one is silver with the stock gold alloys. I have read about your next event in Liddington, which might be a bit of a stretch bearing in mind I live about 150 miles away. Out of interest, how many typically come to these events? I can imagine that a long line of Subarus look quite impressive when they are driving along as one unit. I will keep my eye out for new events and see how we get on, but I would like to attend some events where i can. 1 Link to comment

STImulation
Thanks Stephen Brilliant colour combination, both 1st & 2nd place on the podium! The Club aims to cover a variety of locations for all of our regional Members and we try our best to mix it up each year with both old & new interesting places ranging from the Isle of Wight, through to Wales, and all the way up to Scotland in the past. As our Members are quite wide spread throughout we have a mix of different people and cars at each Show and Meet we attend. Our biggest Club Stand this year had 7 Scoobys together. In recent years we have had up to 15+ Scoobys on the Club Stand together. Edited September 2, 2023 by STImulation Link to comment
