johnmacdonald
If it's the widetrack with only 45,000, yes the STi 2.0 sounds good. John Link to comment
neo gold
Ok guys....good news, i just 'blindly' put down a 500 depo on a 2005 WRX UK300 totally standard car & FSH @ 67000 miles...totally standard & indeed does look ultra tidy...this is from a dealer & is only 65miles away, apparently it needed a clutch & someone had actually bought it, but complained about clutch slipping in 5th. So a plus side is a new clutch assy...( car was returned ). They said if i'm not happy with the car they'll refund the depo i just put on to secure it... Link to comment

neo gold
Good job this trip was only 65 miles away.......the 300 looked like new on the exterior..little to no wear at all on the interior FSH & new clutch & Full MOT no tax though!. It was in a stadium lit showroom with fully carpeted floors?...so i was comfy lied down checking it out...first slap was the rear bumper/lower part was concave & had reversed into something/split the bottom i noticed. BUT i could not help noticing the vast amounts of rust underneath the car/ body seams & spot welds etc...too much for my liking TBH. I was then a bigger problem caught my eye/ the lower front valance/ radiator mount was SNOT ROTTEN!!...there was a big corroded hole to the right side of the radiator....certainley not for me. The WRX IN QUESTION is from the CAPITOL CAR CENTRE @ preston..on ebay now @ £6750. I'll bide my time & keeping looking. Hate rotten sports cars. my gt4's were completely rust free & over TEN years older!!!???. Link to comment

neo gold
Hey...back on the scene & still NO scoob for me!!....but i got my eye on a 2005 wrx wagon @ 64k & a £5999 price tag!!..trying to beat the price down for cash. Its a sonic blue & leather chairs...all standard, i'm looking at this as a daily compromise,,,sti's are mega money..even when they have 100k + on there backs!?..what's all that about?..for me there dead @ a ton..& lost their value. I don't mind the wagons at all...what you guys think?. Thankyou;) Edited August 16, 2014 by neo gold Link to comment
neo gold
Hey guys...I'm back, & looks like I need to pay my subs!, well...I put a £250 depo on a WRX today & getting it delivered home tomorrow...its not even registered & a direct import from japan..i'll do the registering myself to save time. Its a Red JDM WRX & completely standard & best of all ...no rust anywhere...like new on the underside & even comes with a handy Japanese sat nav!!....its a dvd too so all is not lost .. This seems a little higher specced than a standard UK wrx..& has proper rear tints no film...rear window also. The floor mats are like new & have genuine logo/ tags etc... The alloys are like new & gold unmarked...+ four new bridgestone Blizzac tyres.. What you guys think ?....sorry its no STI but hey, i'll be the first owner in the UK The price was £5995...& I'm trading in a golf tdi 2003...only got 1250 in trade though. The scoob is a 2003 blobeye....still feel its a little high...but they won't budge. Edited October 23, 2015 by neo gold Link to comment
ScoobieFloz
Welcome back to the fold. Sounds like you have a great car for just under £5000. You may have got a cheaper one here but would probably have to spend quite a few quid on it. Enjoy Link to comment
spartan
Hello and a hearty welcome to the " clan " Well I noted some discussion and comments re the 2.5 liter Hawkeye's, but for me the 2.5 is a belter of an engine. Never had a problem, goes like a Typhoon fighter and smooth as you like. Buy a good one, service her properly... your laughing. Enjoy Link to comment
