mctwistuk
Ok guys after hearing about problems on the fling and reading other threads with similar issues the question I have is when is it time to start thinking about replacing some of the hoses in the engine bay such as radiator hose? My car is 9 years old with 45k on the clock. Chris Link to comment
g1983
Whenever you like really. If there are any signs of deterioration etc. Remember, buy cheap, buy twice, buy samco. Lol Link to comment
fai17
Only when they start breaking down. Link to comment
DR Motosport
I'd say replace them anythime now. I've just done a set on a 2006 Hawkeye WRX with 60k, top hose was ok but the bottom was starting to break up inside. Link to comment
mctwistuk
So what is best to get? Where from? How much? How hard are they to replace? Link to comment
g1983
Samco, don't bother with any others mate. Some are easy some are hard. Scoobyworld sell them. Think there is 3 kits. Link to comment
lewisscoob
I used merlin Motorsport before. Give Alyn a bell, he might be able to source them. Link to comment
DR Motosport
For top and bottom radiator hoses, I've used the cheaper ebay ones on a few cars and never had any problems. Both track cars have had them fitted. They're usually 3 ply compared to single ply for the original ones, so always an improvement. Relatively simple to do, remove undertray to get at bottom hose, pliers to undo clips (I use strong longnose plier to help access), have a container ready to catch all the coolant. Remove the plastic trim above the alternator air con belts, pliers again to remove top hose. Replace with new, and fill up coolant. Use genuine Subaru at a 50:50 mix. Will take you about an hour, you'll have new hoses and replaced your coolant at the same time. Link to comment

mctwistuk
Does anyone have any experience of the viper performance hoses that Scoobyworx are now selling? They have an inner liner apparently like samco etc. they are a good price by the looks of it. Thanks Chris Link to comment
mctwistuk
Cheap is not always best Chris. They appear to be of similar quality. Have requested a price. Where they say they have liner etc same as samco just wondered if they were proven good or not. Link to comment
gus the bus
I've used Viper, SFS, Samco and Merlin hoses on Subarus over the years and all have been great without any problem. Currently using Demon Motorsport ones on the RA and again working well and great quality Link to comment
