How Much Do You Wash Your Car And How Far Do You Go

Recommended Posts

How much does everyone wash their car, I am terrible I clean my car at least 3 times a week, pist pics up of how clean yours is and also list what you start with and finish with

Scott

I'm at the opposite end of the scale atm. With other commitments and interests, adn with the scoob being a commuter car of 40 miles a day, any amount of washing will only result in another 3 hours of prewashing, rinsing, washing, waxing, etc etc the very next weekend to keep it clean.

Besides, I've already had people bash their doors into mine in the car park :@ wish I could find out who it was and make them pay. Car envy is a terrible thing. (Also might have something to do with the fact that, unlike the women who I tend to work with (no generalisation intended to the women on the forum), I park in the CENTRE of the parking bays, rather than off to one side, or as I had this morning, diagonal. I'm sure reverse bay parking was a pass criteria on the driving test last time I checked?

I start with spray soap from the pressure washer then a nice bucket of warm water with turtlewax car body degreaser and shampoo combo, pressure wash it all off then get my tar remover and do the whole body, with it, soak the car with more soap then rince and chamois it off and get the clay bar and water spray, again whole car done and then finish it off with autoglym super resin then carnauba wax on top of that, I love sundays hahaha diring the week it gets a blast with the pressure washer

Generally i would rinse the car off with clean water, clean the wheels with wonder wheels, rinse the car again before snow foaming with mcguires. After another rinse it then gets washed with a mitt, twice. Weather dependent it will then be polished with super resin then waxed with collinite 915. Before dressing the tyres with mcguires tyre gel.

I hate asda, or any shops for that matter, even with the classic or the wifes car. I always park up near the delivery entrance aka furthest away from know population.

Unfortunately, in a private, guarded work car park, I can't really use that excuse. Its just people not caring about theirs or anyone elses property. Annoying really, because there's no need for it.

For me it depends how much i have used the car to get to work and what the weather is like. Usually about once a week / fortnight.

Snow foam

wash

dry

Being white it needs de-tarred and clayed quite a bit though as well.

Does anyone use snowfoam with just a standard karcher pressure washer without buying the proper attachment? I can put detergent etc in wee bottle on mine and it adds it to water mix but not sure if it would work with snowfoam

Chris

Demon shine snow foam is not bad and can be put through the standard jetwash bottle

I've got a flimsy in-line detergent bottle that I put the shampoo in which kinda works, but would be interested to hear any recommendations for a half decent, but not too expensive, snowfoam bottle/lance and what snowfoam product to use?

got mine from polished bliss. £80 i think for the karscher lance with bottle and 5 litres of mcguires something or other (will need to look) and a pump dispenser

I bought some of the demon shine snowfoam stuff in Asda today and in the dry sunny bit we had this afternoon I tried it on both the cars with the karcher. It took a wee bit of footering but I managed to get it to work in the karcher. Is a pretty old product and only £5 special offer just now.
