euan_r
Hi, been thinking of replacing oem heat shield with a heat blanket prior to fitting larger tmic to help with heat control. Can anybody recommend a good quality one to fit? Link to comment
badbaz
No idea Euan, mine is ceramic coated so no covers - seems to work ok Link to comment
lewisscoob
I got mine from MIJ Exhausts on eBay recently as I couldnt be hooped getting one in from PTP in the states. Cant comment on its effect with conviction as I dont have a temp sensor hooked up yet but it's noticably cooler under the bonnet and can touch it after a run out. I had no shielding at all before though. Link to comment
arch
I have a PTP one on the RA and it works very well, the MIJ one looks very similar. Link to comment
euan_r
Thanks for replies. I seem to remove oem heatshield a fair few times during the course of a year whilst tinkering. How are they for durability? Do they harden up over time like heat wrap? Link to comment
arch
The one i have hasnt but its not a road car. Link to comment
scooby222
pretty sure cosworth do them as well as ive looked into getting one for mine when i start throwing money down the well again just a bigger top mount then or have you decided on a juicier turbo? Link to comment
euan_r
Think i will just get cheaper uk option as even ptps own site states they do harden over time. Dave just td05 sleeve bearing turbo as ive already had to replace vf28 recently, nothing fancy. 16gxt or maybe even evo3 compressor wheel. Link to comment
