r1ynb Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Has any 1 had any dealings with thus company? I just sold my car and now looking for a good blob eye sti Thanks
Ovv Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 http://www.sunnyhillmotors.co.uk/used-cars/subaru-impreza-2-0-wrx-sti-4dr-turrif-201135412398951 .If this is the one Ryan's on about i think its cheap for the condition and mileage its done Thats not too bad for the mileage, however I still think they are overpriced in general.
scouk Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I bought my car from them 5 years ago.. Pleasure to deal with! They handle a lot of subaru & evo stuff so familar with what they sell. Gave me a decent trade in value on my previous car. I usually find their prices are reasonable for what you get.. Not as steep as some other places.. 10k for hte above seems a little high I will admit considering the current market.. Maybe knock another £500 > £1,000 off it... But that's what negotiation is for I would be more than happy to go back to them again...
r1ynb Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 Thanks guys, just looking for a good car with low milage an history I'll maybe call them later Thanks
Ovv Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Maybe the 2.0 litre subaru's are going for a higher value over the problems the subaru's with the 2.5 have :smiley-taunt014: Oh here we go, Kev bangs the JDM 2.0 is better drum. Is anyone listening ?
scoobywho Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 If the mileage is genuine go have a look at it pics look good. just double up on the HPI checks.
r1ynb Posted October 19, 2011 Author Posted October 19, 2011 I use the hpi checker on pistonheads is that the best 1?
scouk Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 When I bought my car sunnyhill gave me a printout of the HPI check for my own piece of mind.. But I'd also done one myself so knew the story before hand... Was origonally the demo car for Town&County in aberdeen!
Kosy Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Looks good. I see it's an 06 plate- make sure it's date of first reg is pre March 2006 sO you dont get stung with the £450 tax bracket. At least I would!
r1ynb Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 Dnt fancy high tax, lol seen a few nice cars down south just traveling a far distance is putting me off, also if the cars not as good as described dnt want to waste time an money but I'd def walk away
scoobywho Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Use experian HPI on autotrader, it has any Vcar listing and also shows indemnity levels of the finance from all previous owners and MOT mileages
BalliSTIc Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 When I bought my car sunnyhill gave me a printout of the HPI check for my own piece of mind.. Was origonally the demo car for Town&County in aberdeen! Having seen how SOME demo cars are treated at some garages... that's not necessarily reassuring *chuckle*
lewisscoob Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 ^^^ Agreed. Who here test drove a subaru from a garage and didnt give it the beans? You'd lke to think it would be well taken care off though. Sunnyhill Motors are generally a bit steeper than most but ive yet to see a rough looking car there. I would go and have a nosey myself but im in Poland til Sunday and off to Angola on Monday/Tuesday.
Ovv Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I use the hpi checker on pistonheads is that the best 1? http://www.hpicheck.com/ is one that they use, and Ive used it a few times for buying cars and never had any problems, plus the fact that you can update it for free within 28 days of buying is a nice feature as it means you are eligible for their guarantee if it turns out they were wrong. On looking at a few websites, looks like I might have got sunnyhill completely mixed up with crown motors who are also up in that direction, now they really are overpriced. Some good bargains down south, I recently bought my hawkeye wrx from York for a fraction of what the dealers up here wanted for one, was scratched to hell but had sound service history and it didnt take long to get the paintwork back in shape. Take it your looking specifically for a STI? Chris.
Ovv Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Was originally the demo car for Town&County in aberdeen! lol, I remember getting a shot of their demo car back in 2004 when my SEAT went in for a services, drove it like I stole it.
scouk Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 (edited) Whole point of a demo car is that it gets "used"... But currently at 74k miles.. Bought when it was just under 40k and by then already had 4 or 5 registered owners But sunnyhill did put it through the painful 50k service before I got it Fair to say the car is in good hands now Even with the mods Was through North East way earlier this week, could of had a nosey... Not got any plans to head over that way soon though Edited October 20, 2011 by ScoUK
r1ynb Posted October 20, 2011 Author Posted October 20, 2011 High tax bracket, 3 owners part Subaru history , timing belt not done, think I'll pass, cheers guys any hear of a good sti for sale let me no thanks
Kosy Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Sounds like the right move. Buyers market so you may as well hold on for what you are looking for. I wouldn't buy a blob registered March 06 or later. Don't see the point when others are driving the car for half the tax. You can even get some hawkeyes pre that date
