Big Gordon Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Sold my car this week, just wasn't practical enough with a growing family, in physical size not numbers. I haven't been on here much in the past few months but just wanted to say how much i've loved owning the car and everything that goes with it. As you all know, owning a Subaru isn't just about the car, it's the whole Subaru community. I've tried waving at passing Mondeos but folk look at you as if your daft, it's not quite the same. I owned the car nearly 4 yrs and during that time i've met some cracking folk and i also got to pay tribute to my hero, Colin, by taking part in The Gathering, it was worth owning the car for that experience alone. As Imy so poignantly put, "it could only have been better if it never had to happen at all". Take care everyone and if it's ok i'll pop by the stand at shows and say hello. Maybe i'll get another Impreza one day, if i do it'll be as a toy and hopefully be a mint series McRae. Keep it between the ditches.

micra_wrc Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 sorry to hear you had to sell the scoob Gordon, hope the new owner enjoys it as much as you did. Say hi to the family for us, Imy & Grant x
gus the bus Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 G, sorry to hear you had to sell the scoob Gordon, but also glad you managed to get it shifted in the current market. don't be a stranger now and hope to see you doing donuts at MM in September Regards to Heather et al Gus
st3ph3n Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 One less black Scooby to wave at around Lanarkshire Never mind mate. I've been over a year without mine now and it's only wee odd moments that I miss it. Wouldn't have traded in the 5 and a bit years for anything though. Oh and that was my quote.
Big Gordon Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Thanks for the well wishes folks. Gus, i'll be at MM in the Trans Am but i'll behave myself this time, maybe. Still plenty Scoobs going about St3ph3n, did Imy not use that quote at the Prodrive test facility when addressing the masses? Maybe i imagined it sorry. Bobby, i hope your keeping young Gary on the straight and narrow.
micra_wrc Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 ... did Imy not use that quote at the Prodrive test facility when addressing the masses? Maybe i imagined it sorry. ... yes I said that at the Gathering but stole it from st3ph3n from here
st3ph3n Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 She's got full permission to use it As much as I still see plenty of Scoobs about - I've never seen mine since I sold it. Probably just as well!
Big Gordon Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 Glad we got that sorted, thought i was going daft for a minute there. Mine's only gone to Motherwell, don't fancy seeing it running about either, i know what you mean.
st3ph3n Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I'm up in Carfin now so will keep my eyes peeled for your old one. There's a nice white hatch kicks about up here, but other than that they seem to be getting rarer.
