jebus82 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 want more burble/noise from the gb270 was thinking of getting this and have a couple of questions, 1) has anyone got/had this exhaust and how did they find it? 2) as i have the prodrive exhaust would it be a straight replacement or would i need anything else? 3) would the car need re-mapped for this? 4) is this exhaust compatible with the 2.5 as its only listed on the blitz site for the EJ20 which i take it means the 2.5 is the EJ25? any replies much appreciated! cheers jebus

road warrior Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Got one on my Hawkeye WRX, fit no problem, got it from Revolution/Just Subaru down in Newcastle Link to Hawkeye Exhaust section Looks great, its pretty loud, although it comes with a bung to silence it a bit (mines is missing the bung) Not sure how it would fit on the Prodrive set up, but fit perfectly to the stock WRX down pipe Shouldnt need a map as you are just losing the 2nd cat that isnt monitored Heres a photo of the old and new for comparason Cheers John

lewisscoob Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Before you go buying one, have a listen to a few - preferably with and without the bung and also try and get a run out in a car with one. That way you will get a feel for the noise inside the car too. I used to love them but now I couldnt live with one, even with the bung in.

mike16v Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I had one of these of my Evo years ago with a decat, it was far too loud and i even got to the stage of wanting to straight swap it for anyone with a standard exhaust.

wagonwheels Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Ive a Blitz nur spec r and it was noisy but very boomy with all cats in place and required no remap in my case(02 bugeye wrx)but when i decatted it the noise was mega loud.Great for 5mins but drives me insane.Got a custom bung now so i dont have to change it

Gee Wr1 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I used to have one on my old bug wrx & i think its the best sounding system you can have on a scoob, the burble is so deep and growls on full throttle, the note gives you little earrgasms Looks great as well. . . .But it is really loud!!!! Almost to loud at times ( i never got the bung when i bought car) Its very boomy in the car at cruising speeds & can give you a headache. Anyone it the back gets it worse and can't hear people in the front, if you have kids or a dog they are gonna find it to much. Try hear it from inside a car and try to think can you live with that all the time which will be hard as you're gonna be sitting there thinking this sounds amazing i gotta have one lol

Hightower Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 i have one on my rb320 and it turned it into the god of thunder.. that backfires..... but they are loud. i have a bung i put in when the wee ones in the back and going on a long journey. it toatally kills the sound but you do notice a bit of a power drop. its fine but you cant drive it hard with the bung in. i also put sound deadening in the boot and doors reduces some of the road noise as well. i dont think there is a better exhaust for an impreza
cruz104 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I have a nur spec on an 05 sti and they sound awesome, had the afterburner vortex on and was fed up with it so i changed it, great exhaust system i went with a straight through centre section just to annoy the neighbours

spect Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I think my afterburner decat downpipe and centre section with a Ninja2 backbox sounds good and not too intrusive inside the car, there is always the noisy Mongoose system too. Torpedomad1 has it fitted.

Nur spec r exhaust system front splitter prodrive badge for splitter and some locking valve caps have plans in the future for discs and pads and eventually want to get to about 320-340 BHP!!! waiting to see the new pro r stuff as well!! cheers jebus
empty_heed Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 i've got blitz nurspec on my classic wag, fitted by the previous owner and so was the soundproofing type stuff in my boot ha. full system and been remapped sounds sweet. usually have the bung in unless on tunnel run or track day. neighbours don't like so much don't know how it would be for everyday use as have another car for thats quieter for that
