Kristan Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Reading in the courier last night, I hear there's some jap car thing on up at Jurby next weekend. I can't remember who was running it but it had a URL. Interestingly, there was also going to be an RR there... Was thinking of getting the old RA on there and putting some figures on it Also, I'm told Max Power are coming to Jurby on the 8th of May, so if we nuke it, we'll wipe out all the boy racers in one go!
dooahhdoo Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Baseball caps and puffa jackets on standby then
Tearz Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I think it'd be good if they started doing some 1/4 mile timing etc up there, would be ace fun
Cret Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I think I heard on manx radio this morning that it's duke doing it although I seem to recall this event being planned by people at Marown TV, with plotting going on on their website as to who they wanted to get involved. Maybe someone else took the reigns.
enCrypt Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 Hi Chaps, The company coming over are called Track Action. Clicky They were over last year with the big yellow Mondeo Touring Car taking people out on laps etc... Its all happening Saturday 24th April. Heres an extract of a mail from them to one of the guys here at work who took part last year... Sounds like a good day... "Hi, It will cost you £99. to run your car on the Track Day. We are charging our chaps £125. but that includes free tuition and a few frills. We are bringing an Evo VI and a Mazda MX5 for hire and drive. There may be a possibility that we are bringing an RX7 and a Skyline also. The prices range from £50 for 15 mins, this includes an instructor and fuel. The answer to your other question is yes, how could we leave our Yellow monster at home. It will be available for rides all day. Will be pleased to give you a few quick laps !! A few things have changed since I e:mailed you. We are running the time trial, we are also running a Sprint at the end of the day. We are also running the circuit anti clockwise in the afternoon. So you had better get some practice in !!" Apparently they are also bringing a rolling road over and everything being filmed from Helicopter etc etc... Last year there were a few VERY nice Jap cars over for it (Skylines, Supras etc etc) So......Unofficial Scooby Meet anyone?!
Jimmy Mc Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I'm up for a trip to Jurby on the 24th. Any other takers?
CustomScoobyIOM Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I might be over then in the Green UK Turbo!! Or I might throw the Type R together for then! Show them all a proper car
Kristan Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 Hmmm, would like to get a 1/4 mile time out of the scoob. Might have to borrow a set of HKS headers or something for the day for that extra oommph! Sounds like it could be a good day, show them how propper cars go, not like those slow skylines!

enCrypt Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 Well being a kinda 'non-morning' person, lunchtime would suit me better! Seriously though I was up there about 12 / 1pm last year and saw quite a lot of 'action' In particular the time trials in the middle of the circuit was good to watch! Fancy a lift up in the Scoob Tearz so you can participate in the 'Convoy'!! (or will the green beast be on the scene by then I wonder....)
