Spaceman Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 4 owners is not alot people don`t tend to keep them long due to running costs as in fuel. no you won`t have much comeback from a private sale but if you go with your eyes open and take someone with you and really test drive the car you should be fine blob sti`s will go well and hard for years if looked after well service history a must, you will meet the owner and so get an idea of how they treated the car how enthusiastic they are about it and the like. id rather buy private than from the dealers i like meeting the owners.

thebigfelly Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 if you need me to check out any cars for you give me a shout,at least if you buy from a Subaru dealer then you get peace of mind.Gav CHEERS GAV GOOD TO KNOW. also appreciate the offer too, will be in touch with whoever and what ever would be closer, if i get the cash back. still not had a call from the dealer manager down south and even tried phoning the dealer manager down there but phones always engaged need to know whats happening asap because my insurance is due on friday , and i dnt wana pay £668 for a years insurance and get told their not gona be fixing it, remind me never to buy fi evans halshaw again... yeah dealer side gives me peice of mind unless their evans halshaw but prices are higher , and theres some nice private ones out there that are reasonabley priced but no safety net of a warrenty or dealership cover....
thebigfelly Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 ok got the call today , guy from down south is off sick , michael bolton guy , but told will get a call tomorow , apparently their going to keep the scooobaru because of high repair costs and try to sort me out with another car, but unless its a scoob wrx sti , or a wrx with a sti body kit then im not intrested , will see if they will give me any compensation or pay back all the stuff ive been paying for the past cpl months insurance ,fuel ive had in it etc etc
Wee Jock Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Been reading your post on and off for a while now and I feel for you. Really think it is time to get your money back and go elsewhere, as previous people have said there are plenty cars out there and you also have good offers of viewing help from good people. Hope you get it sorted. WJ
Spaceman Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 yup jock is right just tell them you have had enough and you won`t accept any other car from them, get your full money back plus some extra claim for lost wages as i guess you may have needed time off for this fiasco get all your cash together and we`ll all help you pick up a sweet sti. the one you were asking bout owners in the for sale looks nice.

Kosy Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Sorry to hear this fiasco is still ongoing bigfelly. Personally (although I know you should be due more) I would just take the purchase price and warranty money back now and just be done with them. That way you can put this behind you and get on with the search to find a good one. Im certain you, and a legal representative, will have to fight them tooth and nail to get them to refund anything above that and it might take a long long time. Best speak to CAB on Monday and decide what you are willing to do. Good luck
thefastone Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Gutted for you mate, really am, they have really taken the piss out of you here, and thats just the final outrage that they are not going to give you anything back for what you are out of pocket for their incompetence! Still, at least you know now...

sparky_sj04 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hi mate, If you think you are pushing the budget with a Blobeye STI then why not think about a nice clean Bugeye STI? I've had 2 Blobeye STIs but on the way to getting them I drove a couple of Bugeyes and was well impressed. From what you are saying all you want/need is a nice clean Scoob that runs well, so I think a nice Bugeye would suit you perfectly. Obviously the looks can divide opinion but personally I quite like them now. Cheers, Mark

Cheers, Mark your right in me wanting a nice clean sti , 2001 ish onwards , aslong as it has the big spoiler on the back , and prefer them with the big scoop on the bonnet as opposed to the turbos with the smaller bonet scoops , other than that if its blue prefered colour and bonus if it has the gold alloys . just finding one in budget is the thing,

Don't let a lack of spoiler put you off as you could easily buy one and fit it. Not sure what you mean about the scoop "as opposed to the turbos with the smaller scoops". The STI scoop is one size for each MY, although it got much larger on the Blobeye - but again don't let it put you off. You could find a standard STI in blue that will have the gold wheels, decent scoop, and high level spoiler as standard. Or just buy John's (X444WRX) old modified WRX PPP from Ian Grieve's in Falkirk. I can vouch for both the car and garage being excellent.. Speak to Gav and see what he says before looking too much further.
