john_mchutchison Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Im no expert m8 but i would say get that air intake fixed cause you will just be sucking in hot air from the engine bay, unless there is a pipe coming up from the inner wing (i think). And welcome along mate, blobs are best

Hutch is right - you will be sucking hot air which is obviously not as good as cold denser air from the front (or inner wing if you have it fed from there) a standard one should look like this.... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e21/scoo...20stuff/air.jpg
Peter W Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Hi. Really nice car you got there I reckon you should get your name down for the Rrrrallye Car Show in Keith in 4 weeks & meet the local guys. If you are coming from the Banff side you can't miss it There is a thread on the events page so feel free to add your name. It was a really good day last year.
JasonW Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Cheers peter, I'l look into it. My GF was telling me all about the event and it sounds liek a really good day, il go find the thread and have a read through it. Scoobysailer - so i am missing that part, wonder why the guy before me took it off. Il go off and try and find one today.
scoobysailor Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Scoobysailer - so i am missing that part, wonder why the guy before me took it off. Il go off and try and find one today. My guess would be that the previous owner had a cone filter (or similar) fitted. If you stick a post up in the "wanted" section of the forum, I'm sure someone will have the bit you are after laying around.
JasonW Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Yea i will have to wait a while til I've done my 50 posts before I can do that so hopefully someone reads this that has one for sale!
mystery machine Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Welcome 'abroad' Tidy Bugeye I believe that Subarus are very popular back home in NZ... Forresters in particular?
davey l wrx Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Welcome to the club mate, nice looking car. Hopefully see ya at the RRallyyeee day in Keith..... I'd sign up cos Peter W won't let you off!!!! Should be a good day last year was and we put the Evo's to shame which was a bonus.
JasonW Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Yea forresters are quite popular, who doesn't love a 4wd with 300odd bhp?? I wouldn't say they are any more popular than other subarus but people can put 20" wheels on them and coilovers for a daily driver! Il get you some pics of some nodded ones if you want? I will look Ono thy show at Keith, it's in about a months time isn't it?
thefastone Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I would say got back to sunny motors and tell them to check that they dont have it sitting on the shelf, or get you a new one, as that is a missing part... they should replace it under warranty free of charge mate...
