Why is it i'm getting the same feeling like i'm a kid on Christmas morning, just hours before getting my long awaited remap over at Port Seton today.

Will report how things went after i get back this afternoon, and already planned a nice we detour via Lanark for the way back!

Know how you feel. I had a mixture of excitement and fear

that I might not get the result I was hoping for.

Don't think you have to worry there with Andy!

I found it a great, interesting day, seeing Andy at work.

All the best. Look forward to reading your write up :thumbup:

Good stuff Phil. Let us know how you get on, although it may be not until you run out of fuel on the way home

If you're okay about it can you add a quick note of the upgrades you've added to get the new figures, getting close to a wee change myself and getting as much info together as can.

Excellent day for it.

Seemed a bit dull when i did it... but that's deliberate with Andy using bigger roads so you don't get the sense of speed. Once you set off home and put your foot down occasionally that's when you really realise what has been done!

Jealous

We are selling the GX and getting a WRX Wagon I think Phil - I miss a turbo too much and I am cycling to work a bit more and also sold Lesley's Scenic so we'll only have one car.

What have you changed on it? Does it need re-mapped? I only changed from the Magnex to the Prodrive exhaust and was told no re-mapping would be done since the last time Andy did it. Steve Whitson said the headers on it were very nice but could do with a re-wrap if you are getting work done anyway

Well what can I say? My new pwr figure is............123bhp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically the turbo is making no boost whatsoever. Looks like the turbo is just not turning at all, but won't know for sure until I get a chance to get the new up-pipe fitted and take the turbo off next week  . It all looked sweet when fitting the turbo, no play in the bearings and compressor/turbine looked good, so who knows what's gone wrong?

To compound things even further, on the way to meet Badbaz on the way home to collect a new up-pipe (Wrong one incidentally, I need a two bolt from the headers version), I must have gone over a bump and my offside foglight cover came off and skidded across the road. Luckilly Barry had been out to get lunch and found it at the side of the road, and duly presented me with it when I eventually found his garage.

Not the best of mapping days by a long stretch of the imagination. Hopefully I'll get some or all of the issues sorted next week and will get back over to Andy soon to get my high boost map sorted.

If anyone has a spare up-pipe or TD05 16g sitting around then please let me know asap  .

Cheers, I'm away for a pint now

I really, really need a few pints to chill out a little, but as per usual I'm back on here trying to come up with a solution for the problems  .

 a cyber pint is as close as I'm gonna get to a real one today LOL!

Not the best power figures there phil! Chin up for a quick turn around!

Is it a standard TD0516G you are after?

Yes it is. I've already got the modified front entry casing to put on a 90deg version if required.

In saying that, if I can get a proper front entry one that'll help so I don't need to swap the casing and modify the water lines  .

I'll get there in the end and it'll be all worthwhile, but it's a pain in the erse right now though

Del, was that you behind me coming through the main street in Lanark and down the hill towards Lesmahagow at about 1:30 today?

I was checking my mirrors trying to spot your name on the rear windows but couldn't see much in the sun  .

I'm gonna provisionally book a date for next month, but will take something at short notice in the meantime if I get it sorted before then  . Sounds like ages away, but it'll come around soon enough  .

Turbos aren't all they're cracked up to be Paul, LOL  . Only when they work?

WRX wagons are nice, you'll enjoy the burble again too.

It most definitely needs a remap Paul. You're right, just changing the backbox doesn't require a remap as it only really changes the muffling of the sound. Andy last mapped it when it was owned by Irish Al back in 2006, and I'll have put on larger injectors, uprated plugs, an up-pipe without a crack in it, bigger TD05 turbo and STi intercooler and undertray gasket. Should see around 330bhp or thereabouts when all done, but a huge change in the driveability  .

Not the best results from a mapping day, i feel for you m8. If there is anything i can do give me a shout.

You any good at changing up-pipes and turbos???

Nah, was bit gutted at first, but these things are sent to try us. It's all part of the learning curve.

(Can't think of any more cliche's)

I've got a replacement turbo and up-pipe hopefuly arriving on Sat/Mon, so will get to the bottom of it next week when Im off work for 10 days or so  .
