Midnight21 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Just thought I would ask why all meets are on a Thursday? Only as I cancel other things planned on that night to go to them but seeing as there are so many coming up from other areas I can really only go once a month....when I could to more if they were on different days Answers on a postcard please ..............
wrxcook Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Was thinking the same Thursday suits me though
micra_wrc Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 thinking out loud... its just before the weekend, fewer family commitments and there are usually no football matches on?! but its a valid question and I'm not sure myself
mystery machine Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Because... I could go to more if they were on different days Just messin'...
badbaz Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Historically people were paid on a Thursday? Who knows Cathy!
scooby222 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 i find i can rarely make it to meets in other areas as im always working away-or just plain working at 7! weekends would be much better for me but i understand im probably in the minority
BalliSTIc Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Too much footy at the weekend, too much booze on a friday, and earlier nights needed earlier in the week to enjoy the weekend/ recover from previous. Kinda just leaves thursday I guess...
ciaranrb5 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Because it is pretty much the weekend. Well I count as that. Start on Thu

scoobykev Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Tayside meets used to always be a Sunday evening, then moved to Tuesdays and now thursdays. It was moved about to suit people turning up and to try and get more folk there.
gus the bus Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Cathy, for me its because I "generally" have other commitments on a Saturday to Wednesday. Which only really leaves a Thursday to plan for I'm afraid. but.............I'm willing to look at alternatives if there is sufficient interest to change the Edinburgh & Lothians Meets to another night Gus Edited February 25, 2010 by Gus the Bus

I feel your pain too I can never make a Thursday as I am always in London! Need to make more of an effort and get out on a run some weekend when I am home! Personally I reckon a Sunday would be a good day, go for a drive in the country and stop off for some food & (Bring the Family, the football is pants) WJ
StrikE Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I asked that very same question ages ago Cathy........... something about always been on a thursday
Hightower Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 so the WAGs have something to do....... no not cleaning tsk tsk late night shopping to leave us in peace
G.Mac Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Glasgow meets used to be at the weekend. When Billy stood down AllyB was the only one who wanted to take over the position at the time and he worked weekends thus the Glasgow date changing to a Thursday, along with not as important for family time and not interfering with football etc. Anyways thats why Glasgow meets are on a Thursday Graeme
