Flathead Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Popped to wickes this morning in Swindon as a fence post snapped off last night to get a metpost post repair and noticed the door wouldn't lock on the fob so i locked it manually. Came out and the car wouldn't start as the fob didn't work spent half a hour fiddling with fuses and the like while waiting for my sons to turn up with a solid tow bar and then noticed a bloody big radio mast over the road ! Towed the car half a mile and it was business as usual any other carparks to avoid in Swindon ?
edmondo Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 had the same thing in Tesco's car park in Trowbridge but have had it sporadically in Tesco Petrol station on Ocatol way - happened on a couple of pumps ( down the front ) but not on others ( top end ). not had it in Wickes before but thanks for the warning
rae_sti Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 think allot depends on what make alarm etc you have .never had trouble in trowbridge with mine .but did try to help a guy with a blobeye once who couldnt work out what was up .silver foil didnt work tho ended up being towed up the road from tesco
edmondo Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 agree Rae - when I was stuck in Trowbridge it was on the previous Scooby that had a standard alarm on
chrisatno11 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Wow ! I thought it was just me ! I had the same thing happen in the open air car park just off Commercial Road this morning....ended up using the key to unlock the doors and the alarm went off ,used the fob remote once inside the car ,drove off ok albeit with the immobiliser light flashing .. R reg classic , std alarm / immobiliser My wife gets the same problem in the House of Fraser car park with her PT cruiser
