mk1cos
so.... who won this time? possibly chris or colin, dont think anything else was quicker, a poor turnout by the skyline brigade !!! Link to comment
RS Grant
Did anyone dip into the 10s today?? Lowest I saw was Chris hitting an 11.3 @ 130ish I think... plenty terminal speed to hit a 10, but looked difficult to get the power down. Was awesome to watch Colin and Chris go head to head!! The EVO boys put up more competition than the Skylines today. Was good to say hello to a few familiar faces too. Congrats to Scoobykev, has the bug bitten? Do you think you'll wait as long until your next trip up the 1/4 mile? Cheers, Grant Link to comment
colin_ross
No tens for me I'm afraid, just more bugs to sort. Might have to break my no more mods to the missus to make it happen - not sure either of us is ready for that. Link to comment
RS Grant
Hopefully nothing too difficult to remedy Colin.. the car looked to be performing well to me, but then I'm not familiar with something of that level, so might be well off on that assumption!! Cheers, Grant Link to comment
TrackScotland
I didnt see the day advertised on Skyline sites to be honest... not on GTRoc anyway. Link to comment
braveheart
Well first of all would like to thank all who participated and gave support, also poor turnout by the Datsun CLub he he I spoke to the proffesor at length and was also a bit diapointed however the show continued was a joy to watch Colins Type R fly down the track, I also had a few gremilins but to be honest I accpect thease issues soldier on is all i say was happy with the times today not too bad for low boost and no Nos nut no excuses no 10s for me thos time car is off to get mapped on high boost next week so roll on will be organising something like this again down Santa pod better track and Maby see the 10s again thanks for all the people that introduced there selfs and will try and give the remainder a pax lap next time so all in all fantastic day and even better drove the car home in one piece always a bonus Cheers Chris untill next time Link to comment
scoobykev
Congrats to Scoobykev, has the bug bitten? Do you think you'll wait as long until your next trip up the 1/4 mile? Cheers, Grant Haha mate, that was a laugh. My son had a great time too. Might be back soon enough My quickest time of the day was a 13.298, which i think was decent enough for my mods (some stickers, some rust and a big exhaust) Kev Agreed that the sight of Colin's and Chris's cars taking off was pretty impressive Link to comment
jcscoob
WTF goes on yous are all doin these huge builds, and spendin loads of cash and man hours ......... .... and still no 10's !! TBH, skylines are crap, only the 1000+hp ones will be in with a wee sniff at your motors and lets face it there is'int many of them. Link to comment
Sleiper
was a good day today, couldn't get my launches right Leslie did tho and keeps reminding me of the fact!! Chris's car was rapid, can't imagine it when its running high boost will be a scary thing, got a bit lost on way home (my fault, Leslie keeps reminding me of that too!!) good to meet some other members and will catch you all at Hypertech on Thursday night!! Go hard or go home, thats the best way!! The wee mans grin was MASSIVE mate, we commented on that as you were rolling up to the line, he looked like he was seriously enjoying himself!! the squiggle
Thats a pretty major flaw in the plan. Passengers are for back roads and the clyde tunnel, the strip is for yourself Link to comment
stevie.w
Chris glad your home safely, or more so the WL. Looks like you had a cracking days motoring, nothing better than blowing a few cobwebs away. Just thinking back you were running, low boost, no nos, and road tyres and a best of 11.3's not to shabby. Oh and launch control unavailiable, ecu gremlins I suspect or neutral pos sensor gubbed. I'm sure Andy F will be able to check it out. I'm looking forward to more mapping with Andy this week on the dyno, I'm glad to say. It's rather entertaining with only 1.6 bar and nos and very lively even in 4th, just to the point of breaking traction. Roll on High boost and more NOS!!!!!!!!! Just thought I'd give you our deadline on Chris's car last week, engine installed last saturday, custom pipes fabricated sunday/monday (cheers Barry) NOS hard wired ready for ecu and plumbed. Ecu arrives from Steve Simpson tues afternoon, running tuesday evening. Running in begins 10pm till 1.30am, another 5hrs wednesday and a further 4hrs thursday early morning. Total of nearly 500mls. Mapping due for 1pm, injectors arrive 12.45 pm and Andy helped me out by coming to me (thanks). Injector wireing plugs swapped over , injectors installed and tank full. Let the fun begin. Mapping went without any problems, our only issue is there's possibly a restriction in the air filter (not big enough). I'd like to thank Barry, Frank and Andy for their help in this project, it wouldn't have happened without your efforts. Thanks lads. Andy I'll tie up with you on the mapping date this week. And a big thanks to Chris for my grey hair and reclining fore head Sure it wasn't there when I started it, no point asking the better half as my name gives a rather vacant look in her eye! Colin I was impressed with your motor today, you've mastered the launch to perfection 10's motor all day, everyday! Edited March 14, 2010 by stevie.w Link to comment
