soundie
Alright guys. car just got finished up and mapped at AWD. big thanks all round there, lovely job! h+s headers, uppipe, hoses, pulleys, hyperflow tmic, scoop (thanks david) Map went well, andy's estimate is 330bhp and 310-330ftlb That should be me happy for a few months A few things are noticably different. Its much more aggresive sounding, standard recirc dump valve now wooshes for some reason and my OIL temp is reading at much lower than before! Is this right? I was waiting for it to get up to temp for ages before I trusted that must be! lol. Still to get a couple of trimmings sorted next week, scoop splitter and turbo jacket. Engine bay might not be to everyones taste Cheers, Chris. Link to comment

soundie
thanks chaps! the most irritating thing is that I've got work to do. I shouldn't just be driving around pointlessly all day, but thats what I think I'll be doing Chris. Link to comment
frank c
You must be well happy with the results Chris. The car is coming along nicely How did they go about sealing the undertray to the new intercooler ? Sorry, your new Large, Deeeep intercooler Link to comment
soundie
well its kind of not really been done yet. I'm thinking about the zerosports splitter just to focus the air channel a bit better, but not if i've got to pay 200 bar for it. or I'll make something: I've got some sticky foam I'll probably fasion something worst case. but anyway, even as is, one of Andy's mapping observations is theres no problem with amount of air. cullenmin
sure is rich.. only place i could think of that was lit for a photae. sounded nice in there.. Are you local then? No, across the water but me and the girlfriend were over in the ocean terminal a few weeks ago so thought I recognised it. I was in my beemer though so didnt get to hear the beloved subaru burble in the car park Rich Link to comment
Big 'D'
Nice car, but as a newbie can some 1 explain how the intercooler increases bhp thanks Without going into it too deep the lower the charge temp is kept the more power you can get out of the engine, so the more efficient your intercooler is @ cooling and flowing air the better the charge cooling is which equals more scope for more BHP. Cheers Iain Link to comment
soundie
Nice car, but as a newbie can some 1 explain how the intercooler increases bhp thanks well to be clearer, its not just the intercooler that increased the power.. a combination of all these things did however, contribute to 30hp fuel pressure regulator, parallel fuel lines unequal headers and matching uppipe turbo hose kit exhaust lagging bigger scoop i'm sure the paint helped too in some way a decent intercooler just helps getting lots of cool air into the engine so they all work properly. 30hp doesn't sound like much, but half the point for me was to set up all the things now, that I'll need when I get a bigger turbo+injectors later on. Cos you know, I know, we all know, that its going to happen sooner or later haha. Cheers, Chris. Link to comment

wrxcook
I'm driving a 2003 wrx ppp, had a map done at extreme in Whitburn a month or so ago so it is now 283/290 from 261/250 that was great for about 3 weeks but have in the last few days bought a vf35 and am in the process of buying a set of pinks and a walbro 225 and was considering a sti intercooler, with all this I am hoping for about 330/330 after another remap does this sound realistic or am I just dreaming also the car had a sports cat down pipe Link to comment
soundie
i'm sure someone will answer that with more knowledge than me, but it doesn't sound too unacheivable to me. you might want to look at fuel regultaor and paralell fuel lines too. I'm NO expert though. sti intercooler would certainly help! Link to comment
